Implications of Celts & Sixers (potential) trade?

Rumors abound about a swap of 1 for 3 plus a passel of future picks (LAL and SAC first rounders in the coming years). Perfect Ainge move, maximizing assets. What could this mean for the Knicks? If this goes thru then there is likely no Melo-to-BOS, as they will prolly take Jackson. They could still, however, have interest in KOQ, maybe for one of those tasty future firsts. Anyone see this different? Any angle for the Knicks here?
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

So Philly wants Fultz I guess... I can see Philly trading #3 and Okafor to Boston for the number #1. I think that's fair enough... Philly doesn't want the Lakers stealing Fultz if Boston gets Jackson.

There's no implications for us though... the Lakers might actually be willing to trade for Melo. They have the juice to do so. They could trade for Melo and Paul George. Maybe that's why Bird stepped down so he don't have to do business with Magic.... i also think LA would setup have money left to sign CP3.... 🤔

Boston gets Jackson or Ball and more picks. I haven't seen this rumor though. The one I have seen is Philly/Sac. Also, all reports out of Philly have them all in on having Simmons play the point. I wonder if Philly would turn around and move #1 to Sac for Cauley Stein, 5 and 10.

The implications to me, as a Knick fan, we are so far behind the asset race in both the near and medium term that we should not even be thinking of 3-5 years, but more like 5-10 on when we think we can build a winning franchise.

Celts are going to be monsters, and Philly will eventually put it together.

We have a pathetic excuse for a franchise & a fan base that gets all excited about undrafted scrubs that helped us win 32 games.

We need luck, big time.

It's all about Matchups at the end of the day. Sure the Knicks are behind now. But we are very young and teams will have to battle regardless of whose # 1 etc. maybe Monk or Smith turn out to be huge for us and porzingus ends up averaging 22/10 and is clutch The ball is in spinn

Wow. Also, Sacs 2019 pick is unprotected. It is essentially as valuable as the Brooklyn pick.

This is HYPEBOLE! Having picks doesn't mean you're automatically going to get all your moves right. Yes the Knicks are behind in terms of assets but they have opportunities to close the gap. Until we see what actually happens it's a bit premature to be calling success for Philly and Boston.

A healthy Philly is scary but Indont think Embiid will ever be a Healthy player for long. We got to just hope we hit on our picks. Maybe tank next season, and try to get something worthwhile for Melo.

Boston is still sort of building for right now so I am not scared of them as a future adversary since they are building for this window.

From what I have read about the trade, it seems like Boston is trying to get enough assets to trade for Anthony Davis, and they might be succesfull because Pelicans wont' compete in the near future and Davis might want to leave.

I just think that Knicks is in the same situation with Porzingis. Knicks will not compete in the near future and Porzingis want to win. Lets say Boston wants Porzingis, which I think we can assume they do, how many picks should we get for him. Boston got a ton of picks to choose from and might get even more.

I just saw someone (not a hater or ny media person) can't remember who, saying that they see no way KP stays with the Knicks because he wants to win. I don't think that is set in stone but I do think the he has real reasons to be concerned with how the franchise is being run. Hopefully the Knicks nail the draft and things start going better.

We're young but the problem we're young without talent after KP and Willy. No other young player we have is starter material. I know some wanna think that Ron Burgandy could start but if he can it won't be for a while cause he's not even close to be a starter now.

I want to see an Anthony Davis-Giannas Antetoukoummpo run franchise. If there is any team that has the assets to get it done, it's Boston.

Wolves Isaac or Monk or DSJ
Knicks Ntilikina or Monk (if neither Orlando or Minnesota take him)

We should try to trade up to get Ball at 4. He's a great point guard that will fit in with Willy/KP. Looks like he is falling to 4. We should trade Melo, and send the best asset from the Melo trade, the #8 pick to the Suns to get the 4th pick. It probably won't be enough, but wouldn't hurt to try. Ball is the best point guard the draft has seen in a long time. He's a real point guard. Someone that will lead the league in assists and is a leader.

Wouldn't it be great if Lavar refused to have his son work out for anyone other than NY and forced teams to trade him to NY if they drafted him at 4. He is actually capable of that, if he truly believes it's in his son's best interests.

So gut our team of assets for one player...we've been down this road before. I like Ball, but would rather we hold onto assets. Frank N is likely to be as good as or better than Ball anyway. I'm all in on Frank.

I want NO part of Ball, especially if that is how he got here. In a few years, he'd be asking for a trade out west.

I know there is a contingent who believe he is an actual NBA starter, Im not sure he is an NBA player

1) Why would Melo accept a trade to Phoenix? 2) Why would Phoenix want Melo? 3) How many bad contracts would we have to absorb to make the trade work?

Boston gets that pick they can keep doing this for a couple of seasons. They could get 2 top 5 lotto picks in 2019 and then flip one of them again.
