I like kennard. Could he play PG in triangle like ron baker did bit he is probably sich a better shooter and scorer and has tremendous bball IQ and an underrated passer. Defense is the question
But can he be a passable defender? He may not be most athletic but he will hustle and could be a smart defender.

now is the time for wild rumors. Kennard has the tools to be a nice player but nothing separates him above the guards who are ranked above him.

Biggest asshat covering the draft: Chad Ford

That could very well be true but i don't believe anything about that draft that comes from Ford

Lastly, all the Duke guys are getting discounted because Duke was a cluster**** this past year... their team was way more talented than it played out on the court. they corrected some stuff by the end of the year. but their actual season was bad by Duke standards

this is from the "Luke Kennard" thread on nbadraft.net:

"Can someone explain how Luke is now a projected lottery pick? I know he can shoot, and this is coming from a Duke fan who watched him a lot, but I didn't see the speed, athleticism, or defense that most lottery players should have. I know he can be crafty on offense and has a decent mid range game, but can he get away with that being guarded by NBA athletes?

I see him around 20-25 range in this deep draft, and more as a specialist off the bench that launches 3s and is hidden on defense a la Korver. Good for him moving up the boards, just not sure why."

If he scores high on the triangle quiz, I can see Phil picking him up.

If Chad Ford is covering it, I automatically assume the news is about 2 weeks old. No offense to Chad, but I get the sense that agents, GMs and scouts funnel slot of iffy info to him to gage league reaction. I'm sure teams do love Kennard, but question the exen

It would not surprise me at all if Phil and the Knicks have their guards (after the Fultz/Ball/Fox) ranked as 1-Nti 2-Monk 3-Kennard 4- DSJ
I would be shocked if we drated DSJ, but I would not be surprised if we traded down a few spots and took Kennard or even Mitchell.

Look at the workouts. Monk said all he ran was Triangle sets. It's going to be the main system next year. Players that fit into that are Monk, Kennard, Nti (faith on potential) possibly Mitchell. I don't think DSJ is at all on their radar. I could be wrong, but if you are serious about running the Triangle well, you need guards that can set the offense up and play off the ball. Guards that can shoot is important as well. You have that with Monk, Nti, Kennard. DSJ does not fit at all.
