I think anyone with Knee issues or undersized should not be drafted at 8, the second round is for taking chances.

I have no preconceived bias against any player. Im in the belief we draft the best player available and not by position. All things the same, then by position.
Clarence Gaines is a well respected scout and has Phil's ear. I have confidence in this process.

I agree with staying away from a player who has already had an ACL tear. Otherwise BPA. I think they will make a deal for Rubio so it will not be a PG but a SG or SF.

Depends on who is available but lets assume Fultz, Jackson, Ball, Fox, Tatum are all gone.
I'd go with

Isaac
Monk
Ntilikina
DSJ
In that order.

I think DSJ is ahead of Nti in overall skills, but you guys are right the knee issues should be a concern.

I really am hoping either Monk or Isaac are there at 8. I feel there's a good chance Monk could be there.

Luke Kennard is a sleeper pick because it seems he has some Goran Dragic similarities, and Goran thrived under Hornachek in Phoenix. Don't discount the Knicks maybe trading a few spots down to draft Kennard. He'd fit the Triangle and what Hornachek likes to do quite well. Probably the best fit on offense. The worry would be defense, a lineup of KP/Willy/Kennard - too slow,

Monk, Mitchell, and Jackson are all bad choices for pick 8 and I would not take Jackson or Mitchell over other choices later in the draft if the picks are able to get a pick. I would be okay with those picks in the twenties though.

I'm am not a fan of his being an all around player. He is a good shooter but what else. Klay Thompson without the defense is could be a real issue if he continues not to pass or rebound.

Monk and Jackson. Mitchell too may not be 8th pick material
I think we should just get French Frank

Monk and Mitchell are not bad choices at 8. Jackson is a reach there for sure. There are no players around 8 that make Monk or Mitchell "bad choices."

If the draft goes as expected I think Dennis Smith or Frank. If someone falls, i.e. Isaac, I think you go bpa. Isaac would be an amazing get in my opinion.

I heard that Isaac is refusing to work out with any team not in the top 4. He may have a promise and either is going in the top 4 or wants to drop somewhat to a team that gave him a promise?

Minny has been trying to get him in for a workout and he has been ducking them supposedly.

Yes, Gaines has earned my trust too. If he thinks Ntilkina is the guy I'll roll with that selection, though I'm leaning Monk right now.

Agree. Also not so keen on Monk. Defense is a huge consideration for me and I don't know if Monk will ever be considered average on D.

Frank N. lots of potential, but lots of question marks as well.

As much as his father is a reality TV nightmare, if Ball fell to 8 I wouldnt blame Phil for taking him. Would not want Phil to take him with a high pick considering the alternatives, but at 8 Ball's court vision is worth the risk. For perspective, Knicks drafted Jordan Hill at 8. Doubt he will fall that far anyway.

Isaac, get him anyway we can. I keep seeing we need a PG or a SG like we are one player away from a championship. I think Isaac could be the best player from this draft 3 years out. We should be drafting BPA regardless of position.

The problem is the teams in front likely will not cooperate. Could we trade Melo get some extra picks then trade up? If Minnesota takes him I'll be sick as that should been our pick.

Its harder to get a quality point guard(We haven't had one in years and years lol). This draft is full of them. However if Isaac is there then it would be hard not to pick him
