I'm guessing we will get a 2 nd 1 and I will take Frank Mason or if gone Frank Jackson

To me, Allen could be any where between Javale McGee and Deandre Jordan.

Some big differences code. First off Jarret can shoot--hes a skill player--Deandre cant. He has offensive upside of a 20 point NBA player---16.2 avg @ 60% in big 12 play--averaged 22-14-3 against Kansas as an 18 year old. Secondly I think Jarret can be what we dont have--what DEnadre is not--a defender who can protect the rim AND get to the perimeter. I think hes almost in a class by himself in regards to touch agility/body control LENGTH and speed in this draft (and its draft full of bigs). What was one of the Knicks worst problems? Bigs getting back--the guy goes cross court in 3-4 strides. Hes got the biggest hands in the draft--so his control of a basketball is incredible. He avg 1 assist per game in Big 12 but if you look at some of the highlights--the passes he made were with good iQ--nice layoffs hitting an open man etc.. Dennis Smith might be a guy who avg 25-5-5 but that doesnt make him a BPA. A BPA is a guy who helps a squad win--I dont think thats Smith.
This guy is being dramatically under rated. Hes a top 5 talent and he makes what is strong on our team stronger. Well be able to match our 2 bgs much better because we can pair it defensively and speed it up. Then when you have that 7-6 reach--which at over 6-10 gives you the ability to shoot over 98% of the players in the league with a soft touch--this is another version of Myles Turner who is a top 5 player in that good draft. He doesnt quite have the deep range that Myles has--but he does have more agility. I think its close. He also has the jump hook at 18!

We'll see, I think his agility is overstated and I think there is low chance he can switch effectively on screens and roll in the NBA, despite some practice on the perimeter at the college level. He shoots 56 percent from the line. His defensive consistency and toughness is questionable and his reads are mediocre. To me that does not translate to a bpa, without really reaching on some projections, the probabilities of which we could debate.

With regard to Smith, there is an eye of the beholder aspect. But, his skills are elite from a triple threat position. Definitely, maturity issues are present. Overall floor game needs improvement. But his potential as an efficient and high volume point producer is not something I pass on. His combination with Porzingis adds to the interest in picking him.

Ill put my duckets on the table--this guy will be a top 5 player from this draft. He'll end up at 245 and will be a terror. Who was the last player who came into the NBA with a jump hook anyway? I hope we can get that @12 from Detroit.

We need a guard bad. It just so happens there are three guards who will be drafted around 7-8-9-10 in most mocks.

Lets not overthink this. Lets go get a guard with lottery talent. We haven't had a lottery level talent at guard in ages. Lets not screw this up. These are our lottery picks in recent years (before Phil/Gaines).

This is not a strong big man draft. Our roster is already stacked with talented bigs like KP and Willy.
We were starting an undrafted rookie at guard last year in Baker, because he was probably our best fit.

We need a guard. That is the way to go. Don't overthink this. The Knicks need a lottery guard. This is a strong draft for guards, especially in the draft. Just go with it. You won't find talent like Monk or Smith or Ntilinkina in free agency. You can get a lottery level talent at guard for cheap. Go get it.

I dont know about you--but Im not in love with any of those players. You wont find talent like monk etc..in free agency--jees let them play a minute of nBA basketball. I think Frank Mason Frank Jackson Jawun Evans hve as much upside as those guys--maybe more in terms of ready made team play.

Im big on FG and eFG. I really like those numbers more than anything else. Give me a bunch of efficient players and Ill make a good team. 60% and leading the big 12 as a freshmen at 18 is a big number--especially when they had no PG. Youre dead on--we need guards--but Im not sure the top is where to get them at best value. Now if you can get me Fox Ill change my mind.

If we can create a team that can dominate inside for 48 minutes--where you have 2 of those guys out there all the time 30 min each--then the other parts are much easier to fill. If the Knicks can dominate from 12 feet in every game--then we need to find shooters a smart lead guard and look for a high end 3 in next years draft.
