That is a crazy deal that I don't see happening.

I would do it. I love KP, but not sold yet that he can be durable and with the trend in the NBA - I'd rather build with 2-3 uber skilled wings and then find role players up front. It's pretty much what is playing out with the final four now in the NBA.

Youre right. Id rather have Jackson than KP--but will Philly throw in Holmes and a couple of two's. I think that would change the composition to where I think the team should be.

No way. We know what we have in KP. We have no idea what this draft looks like. I would not entertain any KP offers short of an Anthony Davis-type. Need to stop thinking constant major changes. Let's build something with this foundation we already have in place.

Might he prove me wrong? Yes. But if Philly offered me that deal, I take it - in part because the league is going to be dominated by quick, athletic wings that can score from anywhere.

If a 7'3 rim protector that can can score from anywhere and handle the ball isnt something you view as a foundation or worth building around than I just dont know what you are looking for.

I know what you wrote. I just don't see it developing. I think franchise talents were very obvious in their first/second years.

I could be wrong. But, trading KP for 3 picks in this year's draft? That is too much to turn down.

Granted, Philly is not making that deal.

Most teams would be interested in trading for KP with the confidence that they can develop him into a superstar. Celtics, for example, would develop him to be the #1 guy as their current core players age. Whether he gets there is an unknown, like any other elite young player. But the talent and opportunity for him to develop into a franchise-caliber player is absolutely there.

but if I am making a bet today on 'can he get there', I'm betting no.

Do I trade him for a bag of peanuts - no. But if the celts offered me the first pick in the draft, you're crazy to say no. The only reason I would hesitate is to keep them from changing their minds.

You'd need more than just the first overall pick because there are no gaurantees it'll produce a player that has star-caliber potential like KP. But I'd absolutely do the trade if they included that pick, Jaylen Brown and a pick swap with the Nets' pick in 2018.
