Mic dropped Irv because he thought he could make it without him. I don't know what his new management did with him, but he appeared on MTV True Sex and his girl was playing him and he lost a lot street cred. He didn't seem as real as his video persona and he drifted away. My friend's sister was a groupie with him, so he also was cheating on his girl.
He could have been making songs with Murder Inc until at least the 2000s if he didn't play into his own hype. Also I think the big comparison to Nas was they were from Queens.
