I see your point about Ratliff and I think he would shore up the front line,Im not so sure he could give us 3-4 good years.Maybe Im still worried about another Dice situation.A 3 year contract would be the way to go IMO.BTW here are some of the FAs next season and after that.Lots of young, healthy big men to choose from...

I'd be happy with any combination of these guys....

Walter McCarty??? why?

if i were to only target the bigmen of that list that i wouldn't mind having on this roster, i think the Knicks could easily sign guys like Brendan Haywood, Melvin Ely, Kelvin Cato, Chris Anderson, Aaron Williams, Lorenzen Wright & Michael Olowakandi for a MLE type deal.

guys who i would love to have but probably won't be able to sign at a MLE type deal w/o the other teams matching the offer or offering more are Kwame Brown, Chris Wilcox & Nené...

the other top players on that list are going to command alot more than the MLE, so it's no use to even consider them...it will just be an exact repeat of the Erick Dampier episode.

I think the best option out for young, athletic, talent would be Chris Wilcox. This guy can play the 4 or 5. And did you see the numbers he put up last year when E. Brand was out. I would give Kurt up for this guy any day. The future would definitely look good for us. Starting line up (2005): 1. Starbury, 2. Crawford, 3. T. Thomas, 4. Sweetney, 5. Wilcox.

would you give up Sweetney, Moochie's contract, a 2nd round pick & cash for him?

Gotta keep Sweetney! If KT comes into the season playing like a beast that would raise his stock. When the trading period comes in the middle of the season, look for IT to move KT for a younger more versitale PF. LAC may be willing to trade Wilcox if they're in a playoff hunt.

Clippers aren't giving us Wilcox for KT...no way...unless you're throwing them a 1st round pick & cash considerations on top of that.

Can Wilcox really play the 5? The kids a legit 6-10 with mad hops but he's a bit on the frail side compared to most centres even out here in the East. THe kids just as unproven as Sweetney as well IMO and if we have to give up picks for him I'd pass.

IT said he can be creative. Besides, you never know how the first half the season is going to pan out.

Wilcox has a similiar build as Camby. I think he could play the 5. But, I definitely wouldn't try to get him if we have to give up any picks.

He's taller, stronger, and more athletic than Nazy; so I think Wilcox can play the 5 better than Nazy can
