I just watched part of this interview on DraftExpress:
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/De-Aaron-Fox-72510/ Incredibly articulate and just seems down to earth, humble kid. I hope we can land a difference maker - we need that. |

Out of all of the guys we have a realistic shot of drafting, Fox is the player I am most interested in. The dude is a baller. I worry that Phil Jackson believes we don't need a blue chip point guard though - he has never really prioritized the position throughout his career because the triangle makes plays, not the friggin point guard

I'd love to get this kid in a Knicks uniform but just don't see him slipping to the 7th pick (if that's where we end up). I'm really hoping in free agency and the draft we go with guys that play defense, of course i want them to have offense as well but i want high energy defenders on this team who you can always surround with players that have offense. D.Fox is the kid i want in this draft though and i think he's gonna be just fine shooting the ball.
Even if he was sitting there when we pick, Phil scares the hell out of me cause he's so damn unpredictable that there's no telling which way he's gonna go in this draft. |

Phil started with Jordan/Pippen and Kobe/big men. He already had dominant ball guys who were SGs, why would you add a ball dominant PG? For me it wasn't so much that the Triangle COULDN'T facilitate a PG like Fultz or whomever, but that they already had other dominant players who overlapped that position already so why add? Those guys needed spacers, shooters, and lunch pail players. We haven't seen Triangle with dominant PG because of prior personnel, but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't work. Been saying for months that something that good was going to happen in the draft. Glad Im not the only one anymore. Guess you were all too busy hating on Phil. |

He's not a guy who has to have the ball the entire possession. Fox gave it up early to Briscoe and Monk and moved. He of course would get the ball back but he was patient in the half court an ran the offense. Fox can push the pace but he's not reckless or out of control. |

I know he wasn't in the front office when BJ Armstrong was given away but Phil didn't seem to mind. Phil also has had success with guys like Smush Parker too. That may have worked for Phil but some coaches like to have a guy on the floor whose primary responsibility is to execute the playbook. In fact I think that the overwhelming majority of coaches want that DLeethal wrote:

Playing on the wide open Pinch Post side of the floor would be PERFECT for Fox! |
