Melo wanted Rondo a few years back... he's Wades bff... they need another scorer.

Melo, Butler, Rolo, Rondo, Wade.... their window is closing. Going all out with Melo makes alot of sense.

Chicago has pick #16... they have youth tho trade. I believe this is the trade that must happen

They either keep Butler and make a move like going for Melo or trade him. I thought Rondo was done there earlier in the year but they really need him.

I was so wrong about Rondo! But I felt Wade would wear down after a long season. Bulls need to step up and go for it with Melo! They have no choice but to push all their chips in at this point.

They might get a huge haul for Butler in a rebuild. They have to decide what direction they are going in.

I think if Butler is traded he goes to Boston. Too much youth and too many draft picks in Boston for that deal not to happen. I think if Butler is available, Ainge steps up and gets a deal done. I think he does that for George as well but George is probably a Laker.

in the last thread about Melo to Chicago - I posted the better chance might be Melo to LAC for Rivers & Crawford, then Wade signs for vet min after opting out- that gives the clippers a great, albeit potentially old and brittle line up:

PG Paul
SG Wade
SF Melo
PF Blake
C Jordan

I would pay & root for that group - might be fun. Probably 2 or 3 players out for the season by the time they make the playoffs.

I would say they should blow it up - but with Rondo, they were night and day better and get by the Celtics. Who knows after than.

They also have this center on a great deal that absolutely balled lights out they could probably trade and get a lot for.

I know I would trade for him

No way in H*** that wade signs anywhere for the vet min. After years of taking pay cuts he is collecting that 20 mill check.

Chi is not trading for Melo...he will only be good for a 1 yr rental with Wade that may get them to round 2 that's alll and unless you guys are ready to take back grant, mirotic, and whatever other trash that they have that is all we will get. I believe them blowing it up particularly if Boston gives them futz will be the deal to make...they are not giving us assets for Melo. Just like they technically did not give us assets for Lopez etc...Rose was an injury risk that came to fruition, Holiday was a thrown that turned out to be valuable and we have a 2nd rounder in the 50s which is like having no pick...

We need to stop trying to pull a Bargianni Jedi mind trick on teams...anyone trading for Melo will damn sure know what he has had for breakfast that morning....Eyes wide open...

the biggest problem regarding any trade, along with him approving the trade.

Yea, he's 9th on this list - which I'm assuming doesn't include any off the court money

That is a bit of sarcasm.

2 things

With the Clippers - Blake & Paul are both free agents or have the option to opt out - I'm assuming they could come back and sign for less, allowing there to be more money to sign wade - though clearly not $20m like he is getting in chicago

Second - with that roster - Wade may just think its another shot at a championship in the largest media/entertainment market, and that could cement endorsement/entertainment deals at a new level.

He's not poor, and he could go anywhere he wants. Thinking if I were him, the chance to play with Paul, Blake, Jordan and Melo - that would be awesome - and icing on the cake, it's in LA.

Melia compensation is tough to swallow I. A trade and I increasingly feel he'll want a buy out. If Dolan can pay $12mm to Phil for 31 wins, he can buy out Melo to alter culture.

If he wanted another shot at a chip he would have signed in Cleveland for 1.5

Maybe he didn't want to be seen riding Lebron's coattails? Maybe he didn't want to go to Cleveland.

It will be interesting to see what he does this off season.

I know he's numbers were pretty good this past season, but he better work on his 3pt shot if he plans on playing longer.

Nalod has always been intrigued by the Miami/Bosh situation and how a few smooth moves can give Riley a nice two year window team.
Chris Paul to Miami is not a crazy idea with Melo. Might not be a championship team, but Heat are in a funny market and make money when team is competitive. Also, Riles is not a puzzy and not afraid to tank a team. Dude let Wade walk. That took balls.

They only will be 7 mill under the cap i believe... they will have to get creative. If they draft for us then trade the player that will tack on a few mill. They have a few other young players... Plus there's the sign and trade option. Mirotic is a free agent so is McW....

I think Phil would rather KEEP Melo than just give him away! Phil is practical about the Melo thing.
If there's no deal Melo stays and they try to make it work for as long as it takes to either get a deal or Melo finishes his contract. A buy out at this point is not going to happen IMO.

Melo to Chicago needs to happen
