Someone on the realgm message board said it was reported on a dallas radio station that dampier and eschmeyer traded to dallas for laettner and najera, dont know how credible this is but thats whats been said...I HOPE THIS ISNT TRUE

I don't see any mention of it on the realgm wiretap. If Mullin made that trade, it would really surprise me, but it wouldn't be the first time he surprised me

This is all I could find on MSN but its conjecture:

"The word is that it is practically inevitable that Erick Dampier will take the money and sign with the Hawks. According to Antoine Walker, that would give Atlanta one of the best front courts in the NBA.

seriously, why do users think that a message posted to RealGM is something worthy? Especially if it is not backed up with TONs of people who heard the same thing.

why cant you just keep one topic on one threat instead of going off and making new topics on just what u heard on realgm? this is how the whole redundancy thing goes off, dont u remember it during the crawford mix?

IT'S ON ESPN NEWS


Ric Bucher just reported via telephone on ESPN NEWS that there is a five player trade between Dallas and GSW. The four players mentioned above are accurate, plus one more from the Mavs who is unspecified at this time.

The trade cannot be submitted to the league office until August 23rd, because Laettner can't be traded until then as he was traded on June 24th.

It's about as official as it can get at this point. We'll know for sure on 8/23.

Eh, I guess we are stuck with Mohammed at C for the next season, ohnestly I'd rather start KT at center, at least he plays good defense. Assuming the team stays as it is I'm lookin at 43 to 45 wins.

Dallas is going to be great. I don't know if they can win it all? Can Dirk stop Duncs? Damps vs. Yao? I think the champion will probably come out of Texas at this point.

What do people think? should Zeke have waited on giving all the expiries for Jamal when they could've gotten Damps? The ESPN report said that Damps would've taken the NYK MLE, but it wasn't available. Did Goodwin screw us over? We'll see soon I guess.

Yep, I agree totally, my hat is of to Cuban, he finally got them a true center. He should get GM of the year for yet another superb rebuild. He's brought in Terry, Dampier, Stackhouse, Booth, signed Daniels, got Harris and Podkolzine out of the draft while loosing Walker who nobody even wanted, Nash who wanted to much money for far to long, and some garbage players like Nahera.

The only thing I have a problem with is giving up 2 future 1st round picks for Dampier. That's a little too much. Even though considering there first round picsk for like the nest 5 years will be really really late, how cares.

that is a killer starting five and an awesome bench.

I'd do it this way if I was the coach:

C Dampier/Booth/Bradley
PF Dirk/?
SF Stackhouse/Howard
SG Finley/Daniels/Dickau
PG Terry/Harris

The only thing they need to pick up is a big body at PF to spell Dirk for 10 min a game, like Keon Klark for example. What an awesome team.
