I went to highschool nearby as well. I have many times discussed my ABA DR J fandom when one could love the knicks, but also the Nets as well!
DR J used to drive down Long Beach road to his house in pt lookout, a condo in his white Avanti automobile. We would be hitching a ride down to the beach. No, he never picked us teenagers up!
We talk about how bad an owner is with dolan, but when you just won a championship the way they did in 1976 against a great Nuggett team that finished the next year first in there division with a some very exciting games and a massive come from behind win game 7 on long island, to have your superstar who was about to be validated in the NBA and the dream of "Imagine DR J. Vs Kareem", or "Dr J vs. Clyde" and just have him simply "Sold"!!! Dr J. was a god on Long Island!!! We used to go see him play when he was with the Virgina Squires!!!

Anyway, its a fluff piece but great footage!!!
