I suspected that would be the case--they have too many bigs and they are a franchise that did not try to develop.. Where a player does not fit with one team--he may thrive with another. I would easily offer him a 2 year contract for the same money 2 years 3mm 1.5mm per. The kid is 21 years old--would be just a tad older than most of the lottery picks in the draft. Hes like getting a 19 pick for nothing. A lot of people poo pooed signing Hassan Whiteside(I probably wrote 20 times why we shouldve drafted him and then sign him and when it counted I was dead on. Hes not Whiteside but hes a lengthy PF with a lot of skill who can help out a guy like Willy G on defense coming off the bench at PF. Hes got range out to 3 and can handle dribble rebound block shots. You dont give up on 21 year olds--you take them and develop.

Briggs, you failed to mentioned Whiteside's decent into playing and being released from a Lebonese team and playing at the YMCA.
Its a really good story but this kid basically had the physical talent, but the NBA is a pro league and he needed a few years to get his act together. So basically in the long run, you were right, but no c'mon man, this was one of many players you have supported over the years. Most are gone and obscure. Remember, sometimes you only have one roster spot for a kid. There are contracts that expire, other prospects to consider as well. Whiteside was not a worthy project when his attitude was crap and he was not working hard. A light went off and Miami was the right team at the right time. Its a great story that he stuck with it. It does warrant that you did too, but just cuz you did does not correlate with Christian Wood, does it?
I have seen him play in the DLeague. Good kid, and yes he might be a player, but he is not there yet.

I'd go to Europe if I was him...find a team willing to give him 25MPG. Let him play disciplined ball and work on his skills.

If Charlotte really liked him they would have kept him, though- I expect they know something about his game by this time- why give up a potential stud? Philly did the same thing too...No?

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

The nBA is political. The guys with bigger contracts play. Charlotte never played younger guys down the stretch--they stayed with Kemba etc for 58-40 minutes till game 82. Hes skilled enough and lengthy enough to find a team that fits. I see some people counting Louis L as a guy we can count on--a guy who hasnt even showed he can play in the nBA SL. He is no where in the same stratosphere as Woods skill wise and hes 25.

The Knicks arent a very smart organization its been proven over a long period of time.

This was Christian Woods 18 months ago against the KNicks. In just this video0--he shows his length on defense--his ability to hit the corner J and out to 3--his rebounding and explosion. We dont need a player like this

no one is counting on Louis L, you just made that up.

Again, even without Melo: LT, KP, Willy, NDour, KOQ, Kuz.

What does Woods bring that would make him a better candidate than those guy?

LT is 6-8 Kuz is a sieve on defense Ndour is not as good as Woods and smaller. I like KOQ and Id be adding a 4th big to our core without the need to use a draft pick or pay much money. Lets put him on the SL team at 21--lets see how he does--my bet is hell be the best player there.

Is he playing for the Knicks here or Philly? They had him and let him go. How stupid do you rate them

Knicks have NO athletic bigs--none nada zero nothing. But the Knicks management is smart right Im sure they dont need 3 point shooting or athletic bigs to cover the rim.

Why not invite him to Summer League - low risk and possible high reward. Athletically and physically he seems similar to Isaac who we are considering at the 7th pick (if he's still available). We're rebuilding and have little to lose from trying him out.

Issac is a 3 imho Wood is a mobile 4 who could slide to 5. If we put Wood on our SL team hed be the best player on the team or close to it no matter who we drafted or if we played willy G. Is Wood a good person--I dont have insides on that.
