If he wants to go to a team with upside and a spot readily available for him without gutting their roster... Portland it's a good fit.

Portland has 3 1st round picks.... I'd gladly take Evan Turner and those 3 first rounders for Melo

Melo, Juric, Lillard, McCollum... with the other pieces they have. Not bad.

I like the return for us. I like the improvement for the Blazers. I hate the deal for Melo. Yes, he gets to a better team but by no means is that team a contender. And at 31 years old, Melo doesn't have time to spend on pretty good teams.

If the divorce rumors are true, I suspect he'll do his damnedest to get to a team with his super-friends. Once the Cavs spectecularly flame out, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kyrie and Kevin Love become available to allow the Cavs to bring in CP3, Melo and Wade this offseason. It that opportunity did present itself, maybe we could redirect a Kevin Love and Kyle O'Quinn to POR to recoup the three first round picks you mentioned.

If Melo has a baby mama stripper in NY he should be headed to Portland about right now. Kidding aside, their guards provide serious firepower and Melo would be a luxury rather than a need.

Nobody else? Melo could really disappear in Portland. No media for a while... playing with a dynamic back court and a future all-star at center

Melo's style of ball clashes with the way the Blazers play...They play fast and rely on their dynamic backcourt to do most of the lifting, whether it be scoring or making others around them better. Melo would take the ball out of their hands and slow them down....

Melo would have to go to a vet team that still plays a slow down game thinks they are one player/scorer away like the Clips, Bulls or Grizz.

Two things jump out at me.
Does this make them better?
How do they afford it?

Team Salaries. Look at them next year!!! Click 2017/2018 and see who has it and who don't
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/

Click this....To me they look like a team that needs to move players for picks.

This is where a team like Philly can do business with them. POrtland salary next year is crazy.

If they trade Evan Turner for the 3 picks then it works

In the playoffs they are showing they need help. Outside of their back court they are in trouble... Melo gives them someone to pass to.... plus on their end they don't even have the roster spots to carry 3 draft picks...

They stick Melo at the 4 with one of their mediocre fwds with Juric inside when he's healthy and they look really good

Turner and Crabbe are both expendable and equate to Melo's salary.
