Its other Knick fans... regardless of how miserable my team has made me, I still have a spark of love inside me... I always see the light at the end of the tunnel, the bright side. To me that's what being a fan is.

Today? 2017 is filled with so much hate and garbage. I find myself just being quiet when people talk about the Knicks. The conversion always gets personal and always goes off on a tangent. It kills a whole aspect of fandom. That's why I spend so much time here.... but even here is becoming a cesspool to the garbage.

I know someone is going to bring up Phil and Dolan... Phil has only been here 3 years. Dolan has been in charge since around 1999. I been a fan at least 15 years before that. If you are older than me then you know better than me.

You guys can vent your stories if you want.... but I'm ashamed of alot of you. I'm ashamed to be a knick fan and share space with you on the earth. I'm ashamed to be associated with some of you. Again don't give me that Phil and Dolan ****... i been a fan for about 35 years. That's as far as I can remember. I love the Knicks bro. That's all I have to say about that.

I'm 65 and I wholeheartedly endorse what you're saying. Lots of teams are in far worse shape than the Knicks but their fans aren't nearly as toxic. Somewhere sports have been driven off the track.

Phil has got the Knicks on the right track. I'm very okay with it. We've been in far worse shape and endure. The inmates don't run the asylum - yet.

100 percent agree with both of you. I think the media is playing a huge role in making the fans over react like Phil said he wasn't being critical of melo he was just stating the fact.

Phil needs to take a lesson from bellicheck and pops. You shouldn't be so revealing on wanting to move melo why give other teams the advantage of kmowing you want melo gone .

But this is the problem of ny media, for Phil You would get ripped apart regardless of how you present your plan... what if Phil said melo is our main man and and he's in our long term plans .. I could see the headlines now ...

It was a lose lose for Phil in the eyes of the media, they are taking their biggest punch on the Phil melo drama because they think that's what the fans wanna hear. They would have ripped him if he said melo is our guy.

Half the fans here would be going crazy freaking out questioning Phils ability to run a team.

Again we are in great shape and with a top pick plus 20plus mil to sign some players Phil is doing a great job ... KP and Willy have super bright future here in ny. I still have faith Phil can create a great team for the knicks .

Maybe I am little bit too naive, I don't think Phil hates Melo. Yeah, Phil's friend hates him, for sure. But why is equal to that Phil would feel the same? Friends usually have different opinions, it is normal. I mean, look at this, Charley Rosen wanted a center with big butt but Phil chose KP.

I mean, Phil actually is very friendly to Melo.

1. Gave him a big contract, and ntc.
2. Let him play a lot of mins, even in meaningless games.

Before ppl say he doesn't dare to not giving him mins because Unions or Dolan. Think about that, it is Phil. He dares to do anything.

3. Everything he said in presser, probably it meant well.

I imagine, if I were a friend of melo, and he came and asked me what he should do, I would probably say he should go, go somewhere he can get a ring. I mean, Knicks will not win a champ next year, and it will not win a champ a year after and it is very possible will not win a champ 2 years after, and he will be 35.

Sure he is very good and very likeable and he deserves better and Phil wasted his prime, but what is done is done. it is best for him to leave now. Everything Phil said is true and he cares about Melo, at least in face value.

I also think it is unfair to call fans who dislike Phil and Dolsn as "toxic". This tandem had certainly done numerous missteps, and the three seasons under their helm has been disastrous. Yes, they may well eventually right the ship, and the steps they have made were really the best ones given lack of better alternatives. But the fandom is perfectly justified in judging them as a failure so far.

One thing that i dont understand is the propensity to hound the team's best player. This was being done to Ewing, and now the same to Melo. And i cannot fathom the way people expect the team to improve if it loses its best player, such reasoning defies all logic.

I dont really have a problem with that. I always hated Phil. Will he be the guy to cut through the garden swamp? He's got a short leash to do that. Post Melo, a few drafts, cap space to work with, a roster full of his guys and his 2nd coach... I mean the time is now. I think we can handle more losing but not disarray. This needs to be a tighter ship (duh)

Maybe the Linsanity end but if I remember it right most people understood (begrudgingly) that the Knicks made a smart move based on the poison pill. This feels like a 50/50 split.
