I heard it is actually next week. I think Tuesday? That's one of the biggest days of our season! At least we actually have a fifty percent chance of winning that day.

thats what Berman said.

Remember, as far as I understand it, the importance of the coin toss isn't for reaching the top 3 (as we are basically splitting the odds with the Twolves- we divide the total of 6th and 7th pick number of combinations by 2 and the coin toss only determins the 1 combination that can't be divided by 2, eg if the 6th and 7th combinations total was 183, we'd each get 91, and the coin toss would only determine who gets the extra 1), but rather whetehr we end up at 6th or 7th if we don't move up to the top 3.

OMG, thats all the last game did for us? N'dour did what melo rarely does, hit a game winning shot!!!
that alone might have saved his career and proved gaines insight as correct that the kid can play!!!

It's pretty significant- if we finished 6th we wouldn't have to worry about dropping below the Twolves and we wouldn't have to split the odds for moving up to the top 3 with the Twolves- its actually quite a big probability hit.

I thought it was done after the lottery? Both teams are given the same amount of combos and if neither team moves up, they do a coin toss. That was my perception but I could be very wrong.

Pickin 7 probably excludes all preferred guards including Monk and Fox. Smith shouldn't be there and thevFrenxh dude.

Monk not a preferred guard for me...so I'm OK with this, though I know some like him a great deal.

If Fox fine tunes his shot, it would be a shame if we screwed up our chance to get him.

Pending our workout of him, I'm down for French dude, Fox dude, and Isaac dude, but who knows who will fall to us.

Have a feeling that our scouts have really looked at Ntilikina, though, and feel that if he is available we will take him.

But yup, falling to 7th, while not a disaster, clearly limits our choices...just hope the guy we really want doesn't go at #6 when if we are picking at #7.

It was on realgm, I remember thinking 'yikes' but don't remember the exact amount. They may have been mistaken, as if you look at:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_draft_lottery

Compared to the tied odds:

http://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds

They aren't too vast, though it is more noticeable if you compare the overall top three odds. However, like I said the main worry isn't the top 3 (as those odds are low anyway), it's ending up 7th instead of 6th that is the main threat and problem

Because I don't see Phil drafting Smith Jr, were in trouble if we land 7th and Fox and Isaac are off the table- leaves just The Strasbourg PG, really. If we finish 6th then we're guaranteed a shot at either Isaac or Fox

Who should the Twolves we looking at? What do they need? They don't need a point guard. They drafted 2 lady draft and they still have Rubio.... if anything, I see them drafting a forward. I wouldn't worry too much about then being ahead of us. Kahn isn't the gm anymore

I wouldn't be surprised if they trade it for a vet, that would be Thibs style

Yup...6 gives us many more options, especially if some unexpected prospect really works out well for a team and pushes into the top 5.

I just want to get the f'n draft order finalized...two years ago we were expecting #2...hoping for #1 when the balls were picked, and look what happened.

We really need some Ewing-draft type luck...

If they move ahead of us maybe they leverage their #6 for the 2 Kings picks, assuming that the Kins see some player they covet when Minny is picking.

Would Phil do that if the Knicks were at 6, and the Kings offered us #8 & 10? Not even sure the Kings would do such a thing is a decent draft like this one...but who knows.

Yep, a top 3 pick would help us take a giant leap forward, but even Tankathon has forsaken us- Knicks hardly ever end up top 3 when I run the simulator!
