your last smidgeon of hope for what? that they'll win a game? or are you a Philly fan?

i actually think the US team might benefit from having 1 less ballhog on the court...now maybe this team can get back to playing some TEAM first basketball instead of watching AI hoist up shot after shot from the 3 point line everytime down the court?

Oh no, not a Philly fan. My last hope of them contending for the gold was what i was referring to. AI, strangely, seemed to be the one voice of reason on the team, who has his head on straight in terms of how they need to play.

They could still bring it together, but, as a knicks fan, I've learned not to get my hopes up too much =)

AI can be a hog at times, but he's a hog that can catch fire and go crazy. Those 20 ft jumpers shouldn't be too hard to make for him, even if he is streaky.

Since we don't have shooters on the team, the one thing I think we can hope on are those scoring binges by our players, and AI fits the best with that frame of thought.

I'm sure Marbury and Wade will be given bigger roles now if this story is true. (I still haven't seen it anywhere)

Most stars have a tendency to hold on to the ball just a little too long, cuz they feel it's their responsibility to make plays. The US team has a bunch of these guys in the form of high-scoring wing players who are more likely to want to create a shot opportunity for themselves than pass.

Having good teammates gives them a little too much to think about. :)

I think if it's truly broken, Iverson needs to sit out and trust his teammates.

If AI can't shoot well, maybe Steph will be asked to play more like himself.
