I'll take this one at face value
Mark Jackson has ZERO experience in an NBA front office. Curry was drafted in a regime previous to Jackson's involvement with the Warriors. Curry even predates IIRC Jerry West and Bob Myers ( the actual Warriors GM)
Second issue, is in the modern era of pro sports history, DUAL head coaches/GMs almost never work out. Even Bill Belichick who is a douchebag, but an elite head coach, has had some real boners as GM of the Patriots in terms of drafting. The methodologies are too conflicting ( a head coach has to think about right now, winning right now, a GM has to think 2-5 years down the road with each decision) When you have SEPARATE roles, then the compromise formed creates a balance. Thinking about right now but thinking about the future as well.
Even if Jackson had experience as an NBA GM, making him a headcoach/GM would be trouble in the making. It's creating a plan to fail instead of a plan to succeed.
Would he be a good NBA head coach for the Knicks? I think that poses an interesting question. One of the complications is that Curry is a consummate team player. He could play and play well for any coach and in any system. Even Don Nelson admitted that Curry as a rookie exceeded all his expectations of what a rookie could be and perform and prepare like a veteran player.
The Knicks keep going on the path they are on ( just plain open dysfunction) then I think someone like Jackson ( troubled past, issues) who needs a 2nd chance might end up being an actual option. I'd prefer to stay away from Jackson, but if Phil and Melo keep driving this team into the ground, it might end up a reality.
