So there's another former Bulls player who has a completely different take on Phil and NY and Melo than Pippen.
Funny how one can just take a quote from Pippen and run with it.
People could so same with Shaq and Rodman who have defended Phil and called out Melo (indirectly on directly in Rodman's case)

There's an article on this here

And for whatever it's worth, I don't think Melo is the only reason NY isn't winning. Phil is to blame as well as he did not bring in enough veterans that can play winning basketball or were still at their best.

Melo hasn't done enough as a player who is paid as much as he is and wanted a NTC.
Phil hasn't done enough as an executive.

Dennis Rodman also said Lebron was a b*tch.

He might not be the best source to ask about today's players.

Players PLAY! Once you get in the gym and on the court it's not about the Prez/GM of the team. Melo and Rose are my big targets because a team's top players have to perform or it's hard to win in this league. You go look at the winning teams in this league and the top players are carrying a lot of the action. That makes things easier for the role players and younger players.

Melo and Rose can't carry a team anymore and that leaves the role players and kids with a tougher task. At this point it no longer matters to me. I've moved on mentally from Melo as a key factor driving this team. He simply doesn't matter anymore.

Phil isn't coaching Melo. He isn't traveling with team except to LA. He is hiring the coaches and assembling the roster. He should be judged on that. I think that was where Pippen was coming from. I think that some of the talented malcontents that were shipped out might still be on the team if Phil was on the bench.

I agree. Plus the top players winning are 2 way players. Sadly, our 2 top players are no longer 2 way players.

Your comparing Pippen to this?

Thought you were better than that.

Phil hasn't done enough as an executive.

Phil is in his position to take the responsibility.
He is paid for this as executive. Blame comes with the territory.
If he had the possibility to do better? Most likely yes - by doing nothing last off-season
Would this bring less blame? Absolutely not. Most likely even more.
Phil was well aware that there is no quick fix. There is never a quick fix.
And for the state Knicks was and still are the fix will be a long process.

+1

Melo is supposed to do whatever it takes to make his team better. Rose too. They are the most talented players and vets of the league.

One thing is for certain.... all these athletes are missing a chromosome. I don't care what any of then have to say. They speak loudly just to be heard with no real insight. Pippen and Rodman...

What us true is tat Phil ****ed up taking a chance on Melo. He should have never resigned him. Now his legacy as a gm will be tainted because of a one dimensional loser that refuses to learn a system or lead men into buying in. Now we have to hear how stupid Phil is and how Melo is so sad and oppressed.

We have our young players and draft picks... that's all i care about. In 2 years we can reevaluate

Melo is like a little girl - a passive aggressive little girl.

Rodman is right and Phil is right in believing that we need to run a system to eventually compete.

Screw high / screen and roll everyone stand around and watch basketball -- give me a system with movement, ball sharing, cutting and spacing. I have no issue with Triangle and I want Melo gone yesterday.
