I mean seriously, don't you people think his contract is a little overrated? He's not worth the money. Besides being able to play many positions, he's worthless! I think Thomas should offer him for Dampier if GS accepts a sign and trade deal.

What do you guys think
Marbury is finally home at MSG!

with hardway and tim coming off the same year, thats a hell of a lot of cash coming off, we can either resign hardway then for less or move him along with tim for an allstar.

why would GS agree to pay a player they have no need for $30 million over the next 2 years in exchange for doing a sign & trade for a player that they can simply allow to walk for nothing?
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

if u just realized hardaway is overpaid, get off the forum. his shooting went drastically down from when he was in pheonix. all he does well is pass and rebound and even that isnt so great.

Penny's a good role player whose expiring contract in 11 months will be valuable.

that may be true. but who the hell is going to trade an all star for them two?

Recently the expiring contracts of less talented players helped teams get players such as Stephon Marbury, Abdur-Rahim, Jamal Crawford, and Rasheed Wallace

As long as there are teams looking to dump payroll (which there always will be), there always will be teams willing to give up talented players in packages with bad contracts.

Toronto's GM is real stubborn and i doubt that we could ever get Vince Carter even for Marbury.

Yea. Carter is a real money maker. Not like a Duncan that wins and puts people in seats. More of a performer and an entertainer that attracts casual fans. It is not possible to get him for just expiring contracts.

penny got this deal some years ago when he was still playing at a high level, we all know now he is not the same type of player he was when given that deal.. with that being said, why do we want to get rid of a player who can still play and has a soon to be expiring deal worth 14 mil?

was Larry Johnson worth the $15mm he was getting? Penny was a max player who got injured, and isnt explosive anymore. Before his knee injury he was on a par with TMac or Kobe.

Trading penny is not possible. I think we should just let the contract run out. We gotta start creating some cap space. I have had no problem with Isiah so far but I really hope he tries to lower the salary.

Penny is good as a 6th man right now. I like his smart play on offense and love his passing ability. I have no problem with keeping him on our team but we obviously do not need him. There are a lot of players on our team we do not need. Dont get me started about them.

because of his contract (bad), the way he played (pretty good) and how we aquired him (filler in the trade), the subject of this thread shouldn't be "Do we really need Hardaway? ", but "Do we have a choice regarding Hardaway?".

I mean, he's better that what we thought when we got him, he won't causing troubles, and soon his expiring contract will help us netting a good talent from a sinking team.

I don't see anything that could hurt us here, unless your name is jim dolan and you have to pay the bill.

The subject of the thread should be "Penny is a good role player now, but I can't wait to see what his expiring contract can get us in 11 months"
