The Orlando game showed that if bench Rose/Melo we may actually hurt the tank.
The role players like CLee/Thomas/KOQ/Holiday all do well. Some off games, but they do well.
The stars are killing us as they take a high usage on offense, have little to no impact, and then don't play defense on the other side. When your leaders play like that, it sets the tone for everyone.
Why stop playing them now, when all they do is help the tank, and expose the lack of wins they bring to the table?
I really feel if we benched Rose and Melo, we'd win atleast one of the Nets games just like the Orlando game. For sure we'd lose to all the good teams, but some bad teams we would win. Just how it goes.
Let the vets play. I also think Phil knows this losing will have it's toll on Melo and will make Melo think long and hard about a trade this summer. Melo clearly no longer cares for the system, the coach, Phil or anything. Rose is already in free agency in his mind.
I said it after the Orlando game. If you bench Rose or Melo or both, you're probably going to get more wins, not less to close out the season. THat's how bad the team's chemistry is with them. Some thought it was about moving Melo to the 4, nope. It's not just positional. This is chemistry. Deep rooted horrible chemistry from the Rose/Melo team this year.
