in 3 guards set. What he does--he does well. But what he does not do well and you NEED this in the nBA--you need to spread the floor with the ball in your hands. Hes shooting from 2 feet most moves. Hes one of the best drivers in the game--but that doesnt help other players. I think he might be a very effective 6th man in the NBA IF there are 3 point specialists playing with him. But his value as a starting pg is not high even playing well individually.

I agree with this. I would move Rose to a 6th man role and start Jennings the rest of the year... unless we trade Jennings.

I'd prefer to just let Rose go in the off-season though.

His ego won't let him accept that role.

I saw John Wall play recently. When they both entered the league they had similar games, but John Wall is actually an OK playmaker now... I wish Rose would get a brain and learn to see the floor and pass... watching Rose play is so frustrating.
Rose is not the answer.

this. He sees and strives to be the best. He's got the same issue that Melo has. Melo's solution to everything is to score more and shoot more. Rose is basically the same but with attacking the rim. They just do more of the same and try harder.

In the right situation Rose could be a huge impact player. What he does is very unique. His problem is he still envisions himself a starter on a team like GS or Cle. Its just not reality.

Yes he could be but why pay a player for that role 20$M a year

Wall is averaging nearly 10 dimes a game. That's just "ok"?

If you really want a fresh start you need to get rid of players that think the have done something in the NBA the players that think they have a sense of entitlement. The Knicks need to get young hungry players that are starving to do something in the NBA. The Knicks need to get that ultimate team concept guy. We have to tank!

I FULLY supported Rose and believed he understood what he needed to do here! Rose had a chance to change his career trajectory in NY. He's surrounded by scorers and yet somehow didn't improve his Assist %. He simply doesn't get it. I'd rather bring in a younger more well rounded PG for FAR less money.

Rose showed you what effect he can have as a distributor in the first half...For some strange reason, we went away from that...Rose need a PG coach who can tell him to slow down, get in the lane and look around you, draw the foul..This isn't rocket science as our coaches are seemingly making it out to be..I have seen LB do it..It can be done..He is oozing talent and speed that can't be found everyday..And he can drop 30 in a given night...It's crazy they haven't tried to work on the other aspects of his game yet..It's painful to watch this motley crew of coaches...

Hornacek had good success with all the other guards he coached except Rose. I think that's a Rose problem and not the coaching.

Hahaha..Like Dragic and Isiah Thomas right..How do you let those two go and keep the ones on PHX????..Come on, Hornacek is a West Coast guy who doesn't care about East Coast/Knicks defense...Time to come home and look inward...

The PHX Front Office did a bad job. Hornacek was able to get good use out of his guards until management messed him over. Rose is his own worst enemy.

it happens. Doc Rivers lost his team. Plenty of better coaches have "lost their teams."

When Jeff has a roster free of guys he's got to cater too and protect things will change. Cant build with an old building already on the lot.
