Did Gaines recommend Early? Wasn't he hired right before the draft? Also, Early was coming off a great tournament and was seen as a good pick at that spot. Guys here wanted him to take Melo's spot. Yeah! There was a contingent that wanted that.

Expectations of knicks fans are so unrealistic. Are we supposed to nail a star with every 2nd round pick? And even if we drafted jokic, no way we would be using him like Denver does. He would be Stat stuffing in limited minutes like o'quinn or Willy do. For all we know, willy could be a poor man's jokic if given real minutes and used correctly.

This thread might actually be the one that proves you are ready to work for the knicks!

Not as well as Willy and KP

Come on, man, you don't have a 100% draft hit rate

How's Hasheem Thabeet and Byron Mullens working out for you?

Fans get to make big lists of players they "discovered" in hindsight.
Basketball executive gets to make a decision on one player at a time, in a moment in time.
Briggs, you wiped out years of good posts with this one thread.
Was it you a few weeks ago said Gaines should replace phil?

In fairness, a lot of teams passed on Jokić.

But I think its a fair point to raise - one of the few things we've given Jackson credit for is his draft picks, and listening to a scout like Gaines.

And we got rolled over by a player that if Gaines/Jackson were that great, we should have found first.

And honestly, I'm starting to lose faith in KP- he seems to be coming up small a lot...

KP is only 21 and in his 2nd year. Typical knicks fan losing faith for no reason.

KP is averaging better stats in his second year than Dirk was in his second year, yet for some Knick fans it's not enough- I'd hate to have to play for them

Better? At best, you could say it's a draw but I think a close look at the #s puts Dirk's second year ahead of KP. The advanced stats favor Dirk. Dirk's shooting was slightly more efficient and he had double the assists. There is a rebounding and shot-blocking edge for KP, though Dirk's defensive rating was a little better than KP's. It's hard to judge the defensive stats. I think one could reasonably either call it a tie or say that Dirk's 2nd year was a little better.

You're missing my point- the fact that he's even close to Dirk in his second year, yet for some that's still not enough. Who knows how KP will develop, but I'm willing to be patient and appreciate what he brings

Ummmmmm seriously?? He was a 2nd round pick that was really good in college. I have no problem with that pick from Phil, if he was a 1st round pick i'd have a problem but most 2nd round picks never make it in the NBA so nothing to see here by me.
