Now at a minimum a public apology from the organization should happen. I certainly don't expect it though from classless Dolan. That episode was unbelievable. Demeaning and embarrassing for the Knicks and the Association. The NBA should fine the Knicks for their unacceptable treatment of a former player. Don't care if he was heckling or not. Oakley is an all-time great Knick, worth more to the organization than current management, Dolan and all his cliched ****ty blues licks combined. Total disgrace that has soured me on this franchise like I never have felt before.

Not necessarily an omission that Oak was not in the wrong.
That he was fired tells me they are suppose to make sure this kind of thing does not happen. Nobody wins, not the franchise, not Oak, just the media.
Prevention is the best, and there was no contingency. Its obvious Oak went looking for a confrontation and he was given what he wanted.
MSG looks bad here.

Oak is beloved.

Probably Dolan throwing a tantrum and blaming them for letting oakley in in the first place.

The headlines across the country are about insecure Little Jimmy and how much he sucks. I was just in the car and listening to Dan Lebatard... they were mocking Dolan's record sales. Like for laughs on air.

What happened to Oakley just sort of happened because of how inept the Knicks organization is. Oakley no doubt escalated things. But isn't that natural when guards march on your seat to have you removed? just send someone to let Oak know he's got to go and if he doesn't he'll come back with more people... at least Dolan has his scapegoats. Shame some guy lost his job over a pissing match

Or maybe you shouldn't just automatically assume anything and maybe it's really Dolan trying to do the right thing. Maybe after Dolan had a day to talk to all of his guys and find out how it all really went down he didn't like how they went about it so he's trying to do something right here and fire someone who he thought handled this in the wrong way....just a thought but everything doesn't have to always be Dolan's fault.

I read this as fired because Oak got in - or fired because Head of Security wasn't going to lie and say Oak was drunk.

I don't see how the two events (Oak getting dragged out, this guy getting fired) aren't linked? How?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here but the Oak fiasco and the head of security getting fired is obviously linked so what is it you're trying to say or ask or...............??

So Michael Kay is to Dolan as Fox News is to Trump?

pretty sure I heard it on ESPN - have it streaming in the background, so completely possible I misheard it.
