The Zen Master's mind games could come back to haunt him.

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson broke his Twitter silence to throw yet another not-so-subtle jab toward franchise player Carmelo Anthony this week, likely in an effort to pressure Anthony to forego his no-trade clause.

Jackson's attempts to stiff arm Anthony has caught the eyes of agents. Sources told ESPN's Ian Begley that multiple prominent agents have indicated that their clients were turned off by Jackson's devious management of Anthony, who remains a productive player and a consummate professional.

Related: Phil Jackson's treatment of Carmelo sends loud warning to free agents

Needling Anthony through Twitter is just the latest move by Jackson amid another lost season for the Knicks. Jackson has indirectly painted a hideous picture of Anthony through columns put out by his former assistant and occasional mouthpiece Charlie Rosen. Jackson has also publicly bristled against Anthony through the media by offending his good friend LeBron James and his associates, while also calling out Anthony's propensity to hold the ball.

The motives here are simple: Jackson wants Anthony out of New York to kick-start a rebuilding process. But Anthony holds all the power with a no-trade clause and he remains loyal to the Knicks.

Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped Jackson from shopping Anthony to the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Clippers - teams that might entice Anthony if he were ever to waive his clause. However, that move has seemingly backfired as recent reports suggest Anthony remains resolute in his intentions to stay and that his wish has only become emboldened since Jackson's media digs.

Anthony is a beloved ambassador for the sport and holds the title of vice president of the NBA Players' Association.

Melo continues to take high road out and all his teammates support him, and he has assured them, no one is going to force him out.

It might turn off the top free agents, who aren't leaving their teams anyways with the new CBA. As far as all other free agents, they are following the money if phil offers. Phil is going about this all wrong, but it's not costing us attainable free agents, I can guarantee that.

I don't expect us to be worried about free agents for a while. That's not what the team is gonna be about. It's all about the DRAFT SUCKERS!!!

This is significant. In NY you have bad ownership, really bad management, and awful taxes. Phil just made himself the third strike.

Phil's ego is too big to fall on his own sword huh..He will never say he is a distraction and not helpful to the organization..

to be fair for 16 years we basically ignored the draft and sucked. Maybe its time for us to focus on the draft for a change. So far KP and Willy have been great picks

Yeah, I'd rather just focus on the draft for a few years.

We should just get rid of the draft altogether. Just look at Philly and Minny! Clearly the draft doesn't work. SMDH

We add talent via the draft the next few seasons, by the time we need free agency Phil is gone (he's only got 2 more seasons) its a non-issue. If it's even true- no star player wanted to come here anyways!

The Oakley incident is getting a lot of coverage. It sounds like people are backing up Oak's story. Taxes, management, ownership equals no free agents of any merit coming to NY.

The Oakley incident will be way more damaging than Phil's comments- shows that's how dolan and the knicks treat their hardest workering players. Disgusting

Basically you have two that have been outcasted. Spree and Oak.
How is that an indictment of how they treat their hardest guys? They crossed lines.
How many businesses embrace and honor those that are openly critical in a hostile manner? Spree came to NY after he choked his coach, he was not exactly a boy scout here, and he ended on a sour note with an idiotic statement with Minny!

Oak seems to be very public about things that are Oak and he likes to be in the limelight. I like the guy, the entrepreneur oak, the loyal Clevelander, the loyal son to his mother, the tough Knick, the empathetic friend...Then there is the Oak who likes public feuds that seem to also sabotage his businesses. He has been rejected by knicks because he crossed lines. Lets be real, Oak landed Oak in jail, not Dolan.

what suppose to happen, Let Oak stand in front of Dolan and let him physically intimidate because they don't get along in font of 20,000 people? Oak was asked to leave, and he didn't. He has been banned by the team. Its their right to do so. Oak wanted the confrontation. He made the knicks look bad. So basically it was about Oak, not his love for the team. Oak has been humiliated by the franchise for his comments and method. Remember, knicks like any other franchise love to parade feel good stories. Knicks have supported the rebellious John Starks, they made amends with larry johnson. Other than hiring Patrick, they are good with him. Patrick burned some bridges too, but they made amends.

Last nite Oak's message might have been valid, but he was wrong in his delivery.

Media as saying this was a turn off before the game was even over. Some writers just love all this.
Players don't want to come to NY cause their teams pay them more, or they don't want to play with Melo.
Knicks have not had draft picks or develop yoots, so all money being equal, why not stay.

According to Oak's version of things, he never said anything to Dolan..Security came over and asked him what he was doing there...Oak said he responded by saying he bought his ticket then he(Oak)escalated by asking why are you staring at me and stood up...I don't know. Oak being a few rows from Dolan is intimidating..I don't know if you can just toss a guy for being there...

Oak was seated behind dolan. Oak lost knicks when he publicly told Lebron to not sign in NY. Why? Oak also got into it with security after game 7 in Oakland. Oak has been banned from MSG, thus he was trespassing. Yes, Arena's can do this.

The Lakers have had there picks for the last few years, and don't even look close to contending. How many TOP FA went rushing to play with TOP draft picks..

Aldridge left a solid team, with a solid young core in lillard and CJ, look at KD, Harden, Labron, Bosh. You have seen this movie over and over.

Melo's temmates love him, your supposed future franchise player want's to continue playing with him. You think the disloyalty, the dysfunction, the losing is going to keep KP here. He's a FA right about the time melo's contract ends, he can easily pick up and go joined melo where ever he's at, or towns, or russel, or liilard.
