What's missing on the team is a young no name GM who has paid his dues on a winning franchise who is given the keys to run the franchise as he sees fit.
The team cannot rest on also factoring in Jackson's desire to protect his legacy or operate as his golden parachute retirement plan.
The team needs to build organically through the draft and progressively over time. No quick fixes because no quick fixes exist. The Rose and Noah signings were examples of quick fix mentality from an aging team president who only cares about the next year, not the next 10 years, because he won't be here five years from now.
Getting the players right only matters AFTER you get the decision makers right. You pick the right decision makers, the good players will come organically in their own time.
