Playing smaller opened up the court and Rose was the main beneficiary. Powerful quick and unstoppable

I really believe Rose is still getting readjusted to his speed again and trying to fit his role on the team..If his 18 footer is falling, he is a tough cover..

He played great. Great win overall.

I'm rooting for DRose this season... don't think I want to sign him long-term... but this season has yet to be written in full...

That's what pick and roll offensive PG doing in this league..SG isn't running PnR like that getting to the rim..

It also helped that Rose was not guarding Thomas...saved energy and fouls.

He was sharp, though...no doubt about that.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

What's interesting is that he really didn't even use his go to one handed shot in the lane becuase the lane was wide open and easier getting to the rack..

Plumlee set some hard picks for Rose too and opened up some good space for him to drive and shoot.

Exactly. We better not be giving him a big long contract. That would be worse than Melo's contract.

Rose was fully in his element with that style of PnR ball. The whole team looked more comfortable as they stayed away from heavy ISO Ball.

I think that is why he was in the game at the end. He was setting nasty screens and also his rebounding was excellent. I see good things for him. Has good hands, works hard and has a clue.

Due to his age, and talent, I have said I am not completely against keeping him IF the deal is good. At most a 3 year deal, with a 4th year team option. If he plays really well rest of the way, maybe 75/3 guaranteed with a 4th year team option. Just have to be realistic that a guard that can give you 18 points a night, get to the basket at will, with his star standing, will get serious money. No way 150/5 or anything like that. He is 28, he is still physically in his prime. It's clear that he is athletically still fantastic.

If he has a backcourt teammate who can be the point guard, who can run the plays and offense, while Rose focuses on being a shooting guard who scorers, I can see him do well. We would have to spread the floor out, and have KP learn how to set much better screens than KP does. Rose has to work on his tunnel vision and realize that KP is shooter, so he has to look for a pass back to KP instead of always looking for a rolling big man.

We definitely need someone next to Rose in the backcourt who will take the tougher or more demanding of the two opposing guards defensively. Sort of like what Baker did, he took on Thomas. Then Lee came in, he took on him. We saw similar to the Triangle that Rose was not bringing the ball up always, it was Lee and Baker doing it as well. We need to have Rose do the lighter load on defense and focus on scoring on offense. I love his chemistry with Plumlee. Wow, the picks Plumlee sets for him was giving Rose so much more to work with. Plumlee is a great asset when you have ball dominant scorers like Rose/Melo. He should be a staple in our games, he sets great screens for those guys and they need it.

3/75 isnt realistic in this market. Not when Mike Conley is max player. Sounds nice but your just not paying attention to the market. 4/$115mm is probably the low water starting mark.

I think difference in Conley was the lack of injury past and the winning consistency with him for the Grizzlies

Dwight Howard got 70/3 from Atlanta

I think Rose is looking at that kind of money.

Role players = enable your stars to shine.

I liked that Plumlee set some great picks- he actually knows how to do it. You don't need to overspend @ $72M over 4 years for a player that can help you win doing the small intangibles.
