Well if Houston's in bad shape injury-wise and they get Dampier, I don't know about anyone else but I'd do this trade.

KT's trade value is at it's peak. He's played well, everybody knows what they're getting, and he's reasonbly priced and aged. He's not old yet, he's right in his prime. He's gotta be dealt, I don't want this guy when he's 34.

Say the Knicks get Dampier for a 2-year MLE, and they'll extend him after that, and Houston comes into camp with this chronic knee problem where he's just not very good, I like this deal.

Start Marbury and Crawford, bring Wally off the bench. Every team needs a shooter, and if Houston isn't going to play, they need to acquire one.

Penny and TT are still at the 3, and you have Sweetney, Mohammed, Dampier, JYD, and Baker to rotate at the PF and C. That's still a deep team, and at this point Wally is probably a better player than Houston.

If over his foot problems, why not. Gotta have one white kid on the team. LOL

Problem is without KT, we get real small!

I hate to say it but for some reason, no matter how much we don't need another swingman, getting one white kid on the team will make a lot of people happy and off Isaiah's back.....

But yea, losing Kt without getting a big in return would hurt....

If the Knicks keep trading all their chips for small players, what are they going to use to get the big men they desperately need?

Allan Houston for Wally? I'd do it and play Wally at SG, but I doubt Minny would do that

If we are getting Dampier and Baker, sure why not. KT becomes an obstacle in the way of Sweetney's development and if Houston never plays again (and considering the Knick history of treating serious injuries, I'm not very optimistic) then we would need a shooter.

However, if we are not gettin Dampier, then no way in hell. KT is our best C, we can't trade him away w/out gettin a center to replace him.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Since I had nothing better to do, I was thinking and I think that this is a pretty fair trade for both teams....and it is also the ONLY way I trade KT for Wally...

Minnesota trades: SG Wally Szczerbiak (10.2 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.2 apg in 22.2 minutes)
C Michael Olowokandi (6.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.6 apg in 21.5 minutes)
Minnesota receives: SF Shandon Anderson (7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.6 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.3 ppg, +2.3 rpg, and +1.6 apg.

New York trades: SF Shandon Anderson (7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.6 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
New York receives: SG Wally Szczerbiak (10.2 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.2 apg in 28 games)
C Michael Olowokandi (6.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.6 apg in 43 games)
Change in team outlook: -2.3 ppg, -2.3 rpg, and -1.6 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

I'd rather keep Kurt and let Shandon just sit on the IR. I want Wally only if we're getting rid of Houston (or at least Penny). Otherwise, there's no room for him. Getting Kandi doesn't sweeten the trade at all for me.

Just a difference in perception I guess..I would love to get my hands a young big man, even if he is an underachiever (everyone seems to love Curry, though...)...Wally can back up the 3 and Penny can back up the point (unless you want to rely on an untested Barrett or Moochie).

I think the people who suggested it's a 3 way between GS, MIN and NYK with Kurt and Mooch going to MIN, Wally to GS, and Damp to NYK are right. Only way NYK/MIN talking even makes sense. NYK gets Damp, who IT said is their first priority. MIN gets Kurt, allowing KG to play 3 like he did when MIN had Joe Smith. Mooch gives them 3rd pg which they need cuz of injuries Cassell and Hudson have. Cassell, Spree and KG is plenty of scorers, so Kurt for dirty work makes sense. Plus KG and Wally hate each other. Last rumor was that GS wanted a SF for Damp, is there a better one on the trading block than Wally? He has a long contract, but GS can use that to their advantage if they are smart. Allow their other 2/3 to walk when contracts are up or move them in trades. Besides, with the deals Mullin gave to Fisher and Foyle GS is obviously not as worried about big contracts as people make them seem to be. Don't forget they offered an extension to Damp but he said no.
