My fear for rose if if he loses a step he is the next incarnation of Penny Hardaway or Steve francis. Guys with big contracts a shell of their former selves who never developed fundamentals to compensate for the loss of quickness and explosive athletic prowess.

He reminds me of University of North Carolina's Phil Ford who was an amazing slasher who got the snot beat out of him as he punished his way to the rim. Phil, Tiny Archibald, Pearl Washington, and a host of others had something Rose does not: A good/great outside shot.

Rose will bull his way to a floater or stop on a dime with a quick mid jumper ( a good thing mind you)but it just beats his legs to death.

Rose can still be special, but unless he is an outside threat, he will wear out. And we'll be paying him.
He is playing for contract and it might not be in his best interests to reinvent his game this year.

I mean he doesn't have the explosion of his MVP year but still it's very explosive compared to other guards

So explosive that every time you wonder when his legs will explode... Scary...
