I'm not disagreeing that Knicks could've played that last possession differently, and maybe there would be a different outcome. Personally the idea of relying on Melo to rotate and stop Monroe isn't my fave but people can disagree
I am disagreeing that Knicks played poorly that last possession. Simply not true. Lance played it very well, and in fact had a strong game moving his feet (same too for Noah). It's also not why we lost. There are two primary reasons we lost, in this order of priority. First, the refs stunk. They had quick whistles on Bucks' drives -- Bucks spent the fourth quarter at the stripe. The refs did not have the same whistles on our drives. Then the last two possessions were completely blown by refs. Refs blew it with Rose and on the replay they had to see that they missed the foul. Not something they can correct on replay but they had to know they blew it. We deserved a makeup call, and the sad part is we didn't need one. We just needed an honest call on Giannis's hook. Second, we got complacent with a big lead. You could see it. We started to smile and yuck it up. The problem was the Bucks still had scowls on their faces, and hadn't thrown in the towel. that's been a problem all year. Lack of killer instinct. We are happy to trade baskets. The championship teams play the full 48 minutes. I think it's really unfair to place blame on LT or Noah -- at least for this game. Bucks deserve credit for staying focused (5)(7)

They've hung tight with the Cavs down to the buzzer. If the Bucks play well Friday, they will blow us out of the building. ¿ △ ?

I think if the situation were reversed we would've folded if down by 15. It's a real gut check time for the team. They played hard for 80-90% of the game and lost by a point. They can grow from this or fold. It will be a test of character (5)(7)

Knicks lost 32-17 in the 4th at home. That's embarrassing and is a ass whoopin. 32 points to any team is a joke and Knicks have no defensive intensity or pride. This won't stop until the D tightens up and with Melo as team leader, it's not likely to happen.

Theres a lot of blame there--but bottom line---the coach has to put 5 guys on the floor to get it done--be aggressive calling timeouts and do not let them have that run to get close. There was some different units that we had either our way with(with snell at SG and henson at C) and the other unit had periods where they manhandled us--Monroe Giannis Parker RIP Crushalot😞

For what it is worth...the NBA admitted that the refs blew the 5s backdown rule.

Hahn pointed this out on the radio today, and the replay confirms it at the 3/4s mark...Rambis looks like he is yelling at Rose to double down on the Greek... you can see him waving his arm/yelling out to Rose. Wonder if Rose was still upset about the non-call on the inbounds play? Both Rose and Melo seem to spend too much time complaining after bad calls on offense... might have been a mental issue with Rose this time...who knows. Looks like Rose was properly positioned but when you get that close to the buzzer, he should have closed in more.

Yes, unfortunately that was an IQ decision type play and what separates the playoff/non-playoff teams and also the high level and regular playoff teams. Even if KP was on him, the chance to double would still be there and you have to make a blink decision to go for ball or not, especially with clock winding to zero.
