i kind of thought they were out of it--thats an interesting development because i do think the Pacers have some pieces that could entice a S+T with GS.

Bender and a small trade exemption
could get that done imho.

now the timberwolves have vowed to resign Hudson--leaving the Hawks in the dust once again. To me the only option for the Hawks is to convince Dampier they will be a legit contender with him, if not they risk going into the season with the most unbalanced roster that i can remember. It's possible they can move Diaw to back up PG--if they sign Dampier Sura and a cheap extra back up PF like Gary trent or Marcus Fizer--they would look like

C Dampier
PF Walker
SF Harrington
SG Childress
PG Sura
C Collier
PF Fizer
SF Smith
PG Diaw

in the east this team would have a legit shot at a 7-8 seed

the links wont copy but the information is from the indianapolis star and the minnesota tribune. in the tribune the wolves owner guaranteed they would resign hudson and in the indy paper there is a dialogue with Jermaine Oneal and he goes on to speak about dampier and the teams contact with him this summer.

It really does not have any new news to indicate that Indiana has restarted its pursuit of Dampier. Just the interview with O'Neal.

That would be interesting, except they aren't giving up Bender. Walsh has re-iterated this on different occasions.

Atl has convinced Dampier of nothing.... otherwise he wouldnt be publicly talking about signing for half the money to play for the Knicks. I dont think he will but my gut says he just doesnt want to go to the Hawks and have it GS on the East Coast.

I think Isiah is probably trying to find a third team to take Kurt right this very minute. Seattle? Utah? Phoenix? Who knows?

I think Damps will most likely end up here, with a good chance for Atlanta. I really think it's down to those teams at this point. Donnie Walsh has a very young team in Indy, I don't think he'd mortgage the future for 2-3 good years for Damps.

I don't understand why Isiah didn't make an offer (or if he did, a better offer) for Al Harrington, knowing Bird wanted to get rid of him.
I think he would be a real nice fit with our team.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

I think Indiana wanted to get a shooting guard- Stephen Jackson made the most sense for them.

If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Pacers cant sign him... look at their payroll. Its not in their budget unless they get a Utah or Clippers to absorb a contract and Austin Croshere isnt that hot a commodity.

Let O'Neal have a wet dream. It is just an interview and he is amazed how Isiah turned over the Knicks roster with athleticism talent and made Dampier admit that he would take less pay to play for the Knicks. Of course he wants Dampier.

Yea the Pacers already used some of their MLE anyway, its basically between us and the Hawks, that is unless West decides to include Swift in a sign and trade for Damp.
