Simple economics fellas, you're not paying Rose to be a SMOTY, and if you really want to mess with his already effed up head, have him sitting behind a feel-good reclamation story. Might as well trade his azz now for somebody's first round pick and be done with it.
This is like all the stupid talk we heard earlier about getting Noah to start the season on the bench. We have the best starting five we've seen here since the '90's; enough already. It's going to break down soon enough without trying to play tinker toys with the lineups. Get Willy and Kuz some more burn at the expense of Lance I Got Paid and KOQ.
Jennings is exactly what the second unit needs to get the touches they need to get comfortable here.
Melo and Rose needs attempts to impact the game. Playing either of them with the second unit will give them the green light. Rose will get you those Marbury assists. Jennings get you momentum swinging assists.
They will get their attempts no matter what unit they play with. Unfortunately, this is not just a sport, it's a business. Huge dollars and even larger egos to manage. $150 million dollars playing on the second unit. Riiiiight. Why not ask Phil to go park cars when he's not busy?
Rose and Melo on the second unit with a "green light" could shoot us right out of games (shout out to the dk7th ignore list!) and what does that do for the rest of the bench? Allow them valuable time standing around in live games hoping for long rebounds?
Give this starting unit some time. We can be scary good if the health thing holds out, just play some fuhuckin D and the Triangle be dayumned. We for once, have too many legitimate threats.
Rose and Melo needs attempts to be effective. They don't get those attempts with the first unit, because there are a lot of mouths to feed. And fan will jump all over Melo and Rose if they start putting up shots, leaving KP open all the time.
The reason Melo went off was because Rose and KP was on the bench.....So was Lee. Nobody was hitting anything, so Melo took over. Rose can do the same thing, if you sit Melo and input Rose. Both are high volume shooters.
KP is a system player, so the triangle fits his game more than volume scorers. Just trying to clear up my original reply, so that you understand what I'm saying. Because your response was way off. Putting Rose and Melo on the second unit? huh?
The starting unit should and will remain the same.....Nothing will change any time soon. It's the rotations that should and would change.
