Same thing each game so far.

Were not getting post scoring
Other than a few drives were not getting athletic plays

and we are going to live an die with jump shooting? Worse was if you go back and look we took way too many tough 2's

We have a better team than last year but were going to miss the games where Lopez was able to score 15-18 points. Were not getting that this year unless Oquinn Willy and Noah combine for it.

The coach needs to tell his PGs to score less dish more.

i agree. i just dont know why the knicks dont make defending the 3 a priority
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

A lot of the same sht. We get some more scoring production from the 1 but give up playmaking.

We dont have athletic defenders

The team will look good when hitting shots and Rose driving in but its not a sustainable formula for a "super team" especially when the defense is porous and somewhat slow

I agree as well, we had no defense and no discernible game plan. Rose made some shots in the first half and even Melo wasn't forcing everything, but that all fell apart in the second half.

After three games the most glaring thing is that we look clueless/without an identity on D and O.
The talent is there... we have penetrationg PGs all over sudden after years of missing this kind of player (yes the playmaking is still missing especially with Jennings and the shot selection is horrendous)... but we are not playing smart basketball on either side of the court.

I understand that it takes time for a team to come together and for a coach to implement an identity so I am willing to stay patient.
I think players like Courtney Lee and KP are looking lost on D based on this missing cohesion and obviously not based on missing effort or skills.

Now the thing I am worried about more is that we are seem to not have a game plan on either side of the court either... this is not about practise in the first place but about having an idea on what to do... who to attack etc.
The last 5 minutes of the Pistons game on O have been horrible... Lance Thomas taking long twos or Noah holding the ball at the freethrow line with his defender dropping off him to close the paint and ALL other guys just standing around is HORRIBLE and does not look like we had a plan on offence at all!!! Up to that point some good talent based plays by our superteam players Rose, Melo, KP on O can and will keep us in most games somehow but until we have a plan we will not be able to dominate ANYBODY in this league!!!
I do not generally have a problem with us being a jump-shooting team (Melo, KP, Rose, Lee are all good at it) but please open up the guys via screens and cuts!!!

On D... well we have not been beaten by great individual performances (yes KCP and Morrison have been good yesterday but there were not dominant/unstoppalbe O players in any of the three games yet)... but more by our own errors... missing out simple rotations MANY times... leaving the wrong guys open for easy shots etc.
Same thing as written above on offence... it looks like we have no game plan on this side of the court either...

Thats on the coach/coaching staff more than on the players even though I was hoping on a strong impact by Noah on the D mentality as well...
Not calling for anybodies head already and I would like to see these players after establishing some kind of cohesion and guys like Kuz and Willy being more comfortable with the situation (which will happen with time)!

I mean it's the same ol thing, different day. A coach trying to run his system under phils triangle system and the players scratching their head and just shooting a jump shots because everyone stop moving after the first 10 seconds on the shot clock.

Then we start getting on the players for taken dumb shots, mean while we desperately need a shooting/combo guard, Lee would be better suited off the bench.

We dont have athletic defenders? KP, Noah, Lee, Holiday, Lance... these guys are stiffs? Jesus.. game 3. Lets let the team sort through their growing pains.

For those that know basketball, rotational defense is the thing that takes the longest for a new squad. As far as Team being better last year? Umm NO! No guarantee Lopez scores over 12 against Drummond and he sure as hell would not have kept him to 9 pts? I actually like how Melo and Rose have been going to basket. But agree, defense has to improve and too many long shots in 4th. Usually a sign of tired legs when settling. Think both will improve.

Despite all the defensive breakdowns the Knicks were right there in the game. This team looks like they need more time to work on their flaws and perfect what they want to do. Detroit looked perfectly in sync and execution level was high. The Knicks clearly looked disconnected on D at times. They also didn't look confident on offense at times. This could be a vestige of the lack of time together this preseason. Only time will tell.
