NEW YORK, October 21, 2016 – New York Knickerbockers President Phil Jackson announced today that the team has waived guards Chasson Randle and J.P. Tokoto and forwards Lou Amundson, Cleanthony Early and Damien Inglis. The roster now stands at 15 players.

Randle, 6-2, 185-pounds, was signed as an undrafted free agent on Aug. 4, 2016 and appeared in three preseason games, averaging 7.7 points over 15.7 minutes. Tokoto, 6-6, 200-pounds, was signed on Aug. 1, 2016 and appeared in three preseason games, averaging 2.7 points over 12.1 minutes. Why cut randle over n'dour? I'm happy to see plumlee and baker made it, but why do you need plumlee AND ndour?

First Randal is hurt and probable less likely to be picked up by another team. Second, he prob would be more likely to be willing to go to the D league. N'Dour played overseas last year and may have gone back.

I think they really like how Baker has looked. His strong play has made the guard spots look pretty solid. Baker is a nearly perfect Triangle guard which is gonna naturally make his stock rise.

They love ❤️ Plumlee and Ndour apparently. It's gonna be a long season and very interesting to see how things play out.

I disagree because I think there's a good chance randle will get picked up by another team unless there's an under the table agreement with the Knicks. I personally wouldn't care if n'dour went overseas because I don't think he's an nba player tbh. From what I've read the randle injury has a predicted recovery of only a few weeks.

N'Dour kinda fits a role that the Knicks are lacking too. Mobile backup 4. The other backups (Willy, KOQ, etc) really don't fit that role.

I agree with the cuts except for Randle. I would have cut N'Dour and kept Randle.

Loved Randle's play, but I like the idea of starting with a totally healthy roster.

I have a feeling we'll see Randle in a Knicks jersey before the season is over. I bet he goes to Westchester to rehab, etc.

Sucks that he got hurt

He's not lost until he signs with another team. He's not playing ball for 4-6 weeks right? The market will be flooded with these types of guys looking for jobs. What is the risk of losing Randle? Realistically? Especially if/when our management likes him? Go establish yourself in the dleague, learn the system and hopefully get called up sometime this year. Knicks two top PGs are a) both FAs at the end of the year and b) injury prone.

While its a setback is there a better option out there for Randle than the KNicks dleague? Unless of course they just don't like him. The injury is a tough break for him, but he Knicks stuck with the guy that can play right away and they targeted immediately after the draft.

I agree. They all lives his play. I think it's all about his injury. We're going to try to Galloway him.

True. Spencer Dinwiddie's one of those guys and it looks like the Bulls just released him:

Real nice player. Big guard at 6'6" and he's a legit point guard. I'd LOVE for the Knicks to get this kid. Surprised Phil's not more interested in this guy--I would've thought he'd be exactly what Phil likes & is looking for in a guard--size and versatility.

Dude got cut a couple hours ago. How do we know Jackson isn't interested in him?

Not sure about that move . . .

Can't keep em all. We have a solid squad to start the season. Stoked for Baker, he's got an X factor to him.
