When he's out there the defense is unstable. He never knows who his man is and I don't know if he's communicating on the switch. Quite a few times he was under the basket while his man was already winding up their jumpshot. RJ Hunter was busting his ass. You simply can't have your body turned ask the way around looking at the ball with your back turned to your man. Its the garbage QRICH used to do back in the day.

Btw can we please sign RJ Hunter if the Celtics waive him

See, I'm the other way on this guy. I like him. Dude's actually known for his defense, believe it or not..I thought it was his best game by far and he's only seen sporadic minutes so far. I'd like to see Jeff stick with him now--build him up and start feeding him more minutes. I'm not sold on Courtney Lee at all. I just don't know if Lee's gonna have a big enough impact for this team to warrant the contract we gave him. We'll see.. In the meantime though, I think we need to firmly establish Holiday on that 2nd unit.

Tyson Chandler came to the Knicks with a reputation of being a leader. That was complete bull****. That was proven further after he left the Knicks. So reputation doesn't mean anything. Holiday isn'ta rookie. Losers give Losers more minutes to stroke their ego.

The truth is Holidays defense has been horrible since he's been wearing a Knicks jersey. His minutes have been sporadic because of this.

Baker is out playing him. So is Sasha. Sasha has a reputation that he sucks but he's having the best preseason by far from the guard position and he's running the point. Gotta go by what's really happening, not what "they" say

There's a difference being a total douche for no reason and telling it like it is. I'm not telling stupid jokes and being condescending based on public opinion. I'm addressing his court awareness specifically based on 4 games he's recently played for the knicks.

I had similar thoughts about his decision on the offensive end. There times he pulled up for the J when he should drove and vice versa. It's because his handle is so weak. If he isn't hitting the J, then he's useless. That said, he's one of the few guys we have that match up with the more athletic wings on D. I'd cut him in a perfect world. But he's needed the way our roster is currently configured.

Wow. Cut him off a few preseason games where he's seen nothing but sporadic mins. at best?? I think he's a nice piece to get back in that Rose deal. If we didn't try our best to get this dude comfortable, acclimated and going in the right direction--building off last night's very decent performance--we'd be doing ourselves a disservice. Very small body of work despite being 27 years old already but that doesn't mean there's not solid potential there. This guy could be a late bloomer and a good one. Also taking into account that we're now down Randle, who's really a shooter and may not be a PG (I really needed to see more of Randle in that role--still really have no idea), Courtney Lee's been a complete MIA (really starting to worry about this signing, even more than the Noah signing), Sasha's at the end of the line and was never thought of as a rotation player anyway....I dunno, guys. SG looking a little thin now all of a sudden. This guy contributed last night and has potential. Let's see more now.

If i go by what i saw today in practice.....Holiday was stroking it from 3....slashing, dunking, looking good. He stood out today.....ndour and tokoto did not look good in practice. Plumlee looks like a promising big with upside but not ready for a lot of nba minutes.....

As much as i want them to trade KOQ....i see them keeping him, billy, cheese, randle.....sending plumlee to westchester until noah is injured again. But it looks like Noah, KP, Billy, KOQ will all rotate at center, which doesnt leave plumlee any minutes. KOQ was also the spokesmen after practice, interviewing some of the knicks players. I think he will be that locker room veteran guy that mentors the young similar to noahs impact.

But if holidays looks like this in practice all the time, he should not be cut.....he looks loke a young 2 way player whos getting better. Cheese defense was horrible. But he was also matched up with melo.....

I saw the open practice too. Everyone played well. It's a showcase atmosphere at the open practice.

I'm not saying cut Holiday. All I'm saying is what the title of this thread says. He was routinely lost on defense. Can he clean that up? Yeah, it is preseason.... still needs to be pointed out.

I was ready to waive him but he showed a lot during the Boston game. Hopefully something to build on. I have seen very little on Holiday. I remember a thread on realgm where fans really lamented losing him. Of course all that is relative as we once had 15 page thread on losing NDour. I know they scrimmage a lot, so I figure there has been a lot that we haven't seen. Right now I mostly see healthy competition. Let the best guys earn it.

I was one of the ndour fans that contributed to those multiple thread pages. Im also a tokoto fan, because i like players with bounce. Unfortunately if open practice was a sign, both these guys will be in the d league.

Holiday has a lot more potental, and could be the last player on the bench.....
