Translation: he'll be on the DL and we get to keep him around instead of cutting him (i.e. John Starks in the early 90s)?

I don't know if it works that way. NDour was waived by the Mavs because of an injury last fall.

Wow, that sucks. Feel for the kid, man -- I think he had a shot to make this team. I mean ****, man -- we're gonna need another guard, no? I think the Sasha V argument comes into play again in a big way here. Some are gonna jump all over me but I'm gonna say it again -- 3rd PG will be VERY VERY important on this team, i.e. someone who WILL get time this year. Count on it. Again, there's no way Rose AND Jennings are staying healthy the whole year. I just don't know about Sasha in a backup PG role as someone who's could get thrust into regular rotation action for a stretch. I just don't look at that as a positive. Don't feel good about that at all.

So what are we thinking now? Crush is right--no guarantee Randle is retained at the DL level but let's just say they do right by him and he is. Where do we go from there? Maybe Baker's more of a lock now to make the team than before? I like that kid, he's played well, but would still like more of a legit PG or at least an able ball-handling/facilitating combo. I bet Phil thought he had everything he needed in house but now with Randle going down, we might have to think long and hard about signing someone who could possibly shake loose from another team before rosters are finalized -- someone like Spencer Dinwiddie perhaps, Elliot Williams?? I still really like Bryce Cotton A LOT. I see he signed on to go play in Turkey. I wonder if he has an out in his deal to come back to the NBA. Corey Walden, same deal (playing in Belgium). I feel these two are on Randle's level and might be even better players.

How do you guys feel on this? Need another facilitator or are we good letting Randle rehab in Westchester with Sasha as 3rd PG?

Yeah those rules changed.

This is good news in a way because if the kid needs surgery he will be out till January maybe. The Knicks could waive him and sign him to the d league to keep him in the organization with money in his pocket.

So we waive Lou, Randle and Tokoto.

Yeah, that would be heartbreaking. I thought orbital fracture means play with a mask? Do they often require surgery? Any doctors in the house?

You know I gonna spin wit it

The newsday article mentioned him possibly getting fitted for a mask.
