Grant also appears to be struggling.

I like Grant despite that ugly jumper and still think he's got a future as a rotation player. At worst he ends up a solid backup. Hardaway started with a nice pop, but when we made that trade I was thrilled. I was a big Grant fan with ND.. really liked his game there and I think he does fine in the NBA.

I loved Grant at Notre Dame and really wanted him to make it in NY. I also thought that workout video that was posted was amazing. But I also remember the scout/insider that Martin linked to over the summer that said the Knicks had realized picking Grant was a mistake. I hope he makes it and has a good career. The article from today suggests that the Bulls send him to the dl to develop and get playing time.

Spencer Dinwiddie appears to be showing a lot more than Grant in Chicago . . .

Watching Chicago/Cleveland right now on NBA-TV. Good game. Real up and down action. Cleveland up 14 despite having all their regulars out. Wade/Rondo started in the backcourt for the Bulls, backed up by Dinwiddie/Canaan (Dinwiddie doing most of the ball-handling with Canaan playing off the ball). So far no Grant. He could be out tonight though, not sure. You figure one of Dinwiddie, Grant or Canaan will be out of the rotation--and that player won't be happy. Grant was a rotation guard for us last year, Canaan's logged NBA time, as has Dinwiddie. I don't think any of those 3 would be happy sitting or playing in the DL. Dinwiddie could've leapfrogged Grant. I really like him. Big, versatile guard with a great feel for the game. I wish we drafted him a couple of years ago instead of Early. If Dinwiddie ever becomes available, I'd love to see Phil scoop him up right away.

There was an article praising Canaan for his defense. He already spaces the floor so he could be a great pick up for them. Also, both Dinwiddie and Grant are big guards so he could share the backcourt with one of them.
"The thing I liked the most is he made simple plays," Hoiberg said. "(Defensively), he's really into the ball. ... Initially, we wanted to get a guy who is a floor spacer, but he's shown a lot more than that. Into the ball, he's been as good as we've had.

"If he can continue that role and play with that type of intensity at the defensive end, he's got a chance to play good, quality minutes."

Just reading JR Smith agrees to a 4-year, $57mm deal with Cleveland. I wonder why that took so long. Either Cleveland was lowballing or he was asking for the moon. I feel like he wound up getting fair value, maybe even a tad more than what he's worth or deserved...Cleveland looks real deep this year. Felder and Jordan McCrae are real nice bench guards, I like the Cory Jefferson pickup up front and this dude Jon Holmes is impressive. Good scoring instincts and he can shoot the ball. So many teams have done a great job re-tooling and adding depth.

I just put the game on. I don't think that was a foul on Canaan. Looked like a charge.

Real solid effort by Cleveland so far despite having about 7-8 players out. They've been up the whole way so far and finished the half strong. I wonder if Grant plays in the 2nd half. So far these announcers haven't even mentioned his name..

Grant played the entire 4th quarter of the Cavs game for the win .. I see Grant taking minutes away from Canaan n Dinwiddie in the regular season. Grant speed picked up a notch to knock down layups

I want to see that cat play free and then he can show his skills. I thought he was a special player coming out of college.
He can run a team. I thought he would eventually do ok here, but we were waiting on his shot and he was handcuffed in this system.
Too early to say anything about him, but I do expect him to turn things around.

Hardaway on the other hand, not sure. Very inconsistent and defense is just not there.

Give Justin Holiday a little time. I think he'll prove to be the better player over THJ.

I think THJ will do well when he finds the right fit. He's a specialist. There's room in the league for guys who can shoot. Unfortunately for him the days of being a star for exclusively shooting from the perimeter are long gone. Teams really do value versatility and the ability to play multiple positions/roles
