I dunno if you noticed guys but the Knicks have slowly been getting players that suit their positions. Especially the way we as New Yorker's like to see.

Marbs is a NY point guard through and through. Dude got crazy handle, can get to the hole and take over games offensively....not to mention main thing which is passing and he's great at that.

Timmy gets alot of flap but the guy is 6'10" and can guard the perimeter and post players. Plus he can score all over the floor within the flow of the game.....to me that is what a small fwd is supposed to do.

Houston is the best jumpshooter in the league not Dirk.

Crawford is like Sprewell except he can go left and right with a point guards handle.

Sweetney is that dude we all love in the post. He has alot of Oak and Mason in him. Sweets has the potential to be better than both.

Dampier is not a stiff and he has the footwork, hands, and touch to become low post threat. We all like dirty work guys and Damp is that dude.

Even JYD....that guy loves doing what he does and he has a crazy personality. I could see him getting his share of floor burns. Definately will be a fan favorite.

What you guys think?

What if Isiah gets Damp by trade and then the Knicks sign Swift or something like that?

it does beat having a team with no real point guard, two shooting guards, a small forward and a PF. but, as much as i like houston, ray allen, peja, and michael redd are definitely better shooters than him.

Yeah, I'll take Peja, Redd, or Dirk over Allan any day of the week.

He's definitely one of the best though.

I love Houston, why are so many people dogging him? Because he took the 100mil? The guy can shoot the rock. When he is healthy he is top 10 in shooting, to me it seems like some people on this board want him to be done so Crawford can be our guy.

Personally I want them to coexist and wreak havoc on the league. H20 will be back...I believe Martin has said it too and a few others. The guy isnt done yet so dont count him out.

And if you are a fan you will be rooting for him to be at 100%.

I believe everyone on here agrees with that.

i like him a lot also, as i said in my post ... but at this point i think most people would agree that ray allen, redd and peja are better shooters. it's like if i said jason kidd was a better playmaker than stephon - it doesnt mean i dont like him or i want to trade houston - i actually like houston more than crawford and would rather see houston start and play a helthy season - but to say houston is the best shooter in the league is a little unrealistc.

Houston is one of the top five outside shooters in the league, when healthy. How's that?

I think the original point is the team is finalling being designed where there are players whose style complements one another and can actually play and defend their own position. And that is quite refreshing. It seemed like Layden just went after players would could run the pick and roll, which was okay but not really that great unless Jerry Sloan is the coach.

Yeah Houston is one of the top 5 shooters in the league today but what else does he do?

Don't tell me he draws double teams cuz they never double on Houston....
Rule #1 in defense is you do not double team a jump shooter. What you do is send a guy like Bruce Bowen or Ron Artest at him and force him to put the ball on the floor. Or try to get a hand in his face just don't leave them open.

Houston already has proven all that he can do is shoot if he "can't get the lift I need on the jumpshot" he is useless.

Yay for Crawford.

The Knicks are slowly getting the players that give a team confidence.

Other teams are startign to look at the Knicks and having to get worried about not just containing Marbs but stopping the whole team.

Dominant Scorer? I dunno buddy....shooter is the word maybe.

My question is when the dude is off how does he help?

30 minutes nothing more......or play the hot hand I guess.....at least we can say "damn Lenny put Crawford in!" and vice versa. That's gonna be fun.

I cannot believe some of the things you people say. Houston and dominating scorer are not words that go together. Please do not use them that way again. Allan Houston is a 1-dimensional jump shooter.

OasisBU: Honestly, my beef is not as much with his contract than his attitude. Why does he refuse to rebound? He is a big guy for a SG. 6 feet 6 inches can get you atleast 4 to 5 rebounds per game. He actually said rebounding was not his game on an interview once which is why he doesnt get any!! Who says something like that!!

He does not drive the ball into the lane. He does not find the open man and get assists in games. He does not play much defense. He is just a very very average player with a good jump shot.

Eh, I think he is a solid player with an awesome jump shot, and at his money it makes him a joak.

It's just an example of how ridiculous Houston's contract is.

Houston is supposed to be a man of God......you don't hear about this guy taking a paycut for the betterment of the team do you? He knew he had no business getting that much money compared to say....Kobe, Tracy, Vince.....You never here about him donating his money to help the world in a Christian manner....I'll see him in hell with the rest of us.

I really don't think calling out a man's religion or his faith is called for on a sports message board where he can't/won't/doesn't defend himself, don't you think?

those are just some of the donations he has made

it's one thing to not like a player for his contract or the way he plays, but don't say a stand-up guy like allan houston is a selfish, immoral person, especially when you don't know what he has done for his community and for various youth groups.
