He is definitely a flawed man but I love how real he is, how loyal he remains to those who have helped him or loved him. I was never a huge fan of AI's but I have more respect for him as a man after that speech -- that said I still suspect he will run into some financial/legal troubles down the road -- don't hope so but fear he's too flawed to avoid them over the course of a lifetime. |

I would say that Isaiah Thomas was just as tough, just as talented offensively (if not more so) and more of a team leader/facilitator (true point).
Zeke had just as much ability to score the ball but restricted his usage/attempts because he was 1st and foremost a great PG/leader. |

I'm the same height as AI.....then there was maybe 2 other guys around 6'2 All the small guys in the NBA can thank AI.....especially the guards / players who grew up in today's hip hop area. Nate "Tiny" Archibald lead the league in Scoring and Assists, 34ppg and 11 assists in 1973. Many accolades and of course HOF!!
Was Sporting News NBA MVP that year. I'd say him, Thomas and Iverson best small guards in each of their respective Eras. |

Great speech by AI. I think he hit all the marks he was looking to hit and really went back in thanking everybody. His nervousness was obvious but he loosend up as he went along.
