I can see he is trying to get everyone on the same page. He may not be a leader but you can definitely see that he wants nothing more than to win. I hope he keeps away from Twitter and Instagram and whatever and just concentrates on basketball. The off the court stuff not so important as what you do to make a living which is basketball. Off the court stuff can wait until he retires.

I actually think Melo has become a leader. The last couple of years you can see examples of his growth. He's not a rah rah vocal type but he talks to young guys and shows them the ropes. He brings guys together for social gatherings and gym sessions.

no question he has turned a corner in terms of maturity. lets hope he can translate those 25 fantastic games form last season into 70 fantastic games this season. hornacek has to let him maintain his role as a playmaker. stay healthy melo!
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Hornacek needs his top priority to be to end melo's horrible few years of end game (forced) shot selection. The passing was great last season (until that putz rambis took over).

Same here....very impressed with Melo's maturity. And he's at the right age when everything comes together. Skills, Leadership, Maturity. But I remember this age and the window closed on me after a major injury at 35.....But I think Phil has extended Melo's career with the talent we have around him. Him, Noah, Lee and others will teach KP how to be a dog on offense and defense!

Uhm, I'd hope he'd grow up, he's 32!!! On the serious note, I'm hard on him sometimes, but even I can see he's at least trying to turn a corner somewhat.

Just enough of the stunts is all...

I will never understand your logic here. Just because he is a pro ball player who has the team on his shoulders doesn't mean he can't have a little fun and act like a human.

Uhm, human? When I roll out to Walmart with my family I don't wear my monagrammed ChuckBuck bathrobe, ChuckBuck trucker hat, and roll of singles in my hand when I buy toilet paper. This is the opposite of being a common human. More like attention whoring celebrity.

Either way, I'll excuse any doucebaggery and idiocy if he continues his improved on the court team oriented play.

Cause there isn't any.

Melo hasn't come as far as people think.. they have just been too douchey to realize the guy is actually a good ball player and teammate and has been for many years. Some have been actually saying this for years... but the Knicks have talent now so the haters need to hedge so they can reserve their seats on the bandwagon.

No. Most sane/fair minded people certainly saw a change in melo's game the first half of last season. Talent my azz! That was some of the worst talent he's played with in his career.

Uh, keep waiting. I root for the name in front of the jersey, not the name on back.

This guy on the other hand...I have no choice but to be a fanboi!

i see a guy being a goof off and having a good time. i'm cutting him slack here. and it's not walmart it's a bodega so he isn't really making a spectacle of himself. (for the "away" posters a bodega is a small grocery store-like business that stays open late and has bare essentials.)

Cuz you arent in NYC... running to the corner store in a robe isnt such a big deal. Maybe he made a bet with his wife and lost... who knows. Maybe Seamless wasnt working that night. Its not a big deal...what makes it douchebaggery? That he didnt put on pants to walk to the corner?

Besides, technically all of Manhattan is a private enclosure. Its all home if you respect the jewish faith.

Deep down I know people know Chuckbuck has a point in this and it's accurate. This is not maturity it's childish. Melo needs to stay away from stuff like this.

Of course I have a point! I lived in both NYC and the burbs. Never have I once went to the corner store or Bodega in a bathrobe, PJ's, boxers, etc especially at night. The Dominicans that ran the one where I used to live in LIC would've laughed me out the store.

Melo doing this, knowing his wife LaLa is actively snapchatting this, is a "Millenial disorder". Every single thing must be documented, no matter how embarassing or silly. Really is attention whoring at it's base level.

Guess anything to build up the brand...

At the end of the day, he could go to the Bodega in a tutu for phucks sakes. Just continue to play teamball and help elevate KP to god level.

and how does being childish impact his ability to be an effective basketball player for the NY Knicks?

The way you guys harp on this player is childish. With the small but painfully vocal crew of Melo trolls on this board its a good place for these types of posts. Carry on... maybe UK should have a special section for it, or maybe we could build a wall.
