Damps has the Tennessee connection with Allan and Penny. Hopefully he wants to come. He looked like he was having a good time.

Nice job by Penny, especially on the same night when they traded for his replacement.

And it seemed like Penny was a great host. Learn some people skills Penny.
Anyway it looks like Damp really loves this city. I feel we have an 80% chance to get him here. I got a strong feeling it will be the 1 year MLE offer, but that's just my feeling.

Already there's a chemistry. It shows that not only does Dampier want to play here, but Penny wants to be a big part of what's to come.

Peeny is a good guy. HE understood that he couldn't be the man anymore, and is becoming more and more the smart vet that all teams need.

UNefortunately, his expriing contract will have him shipped next yr.

That's actually fortunate. TT, Moochie, and Penny will give Isiah approximately $27 million in expiring contracts next year that he can attempt to leverage to obtain the elite post up player, who can pass out of the double team in the low blocks, that this team needs to reach the next level.

That's right. Good, they need an athletic young shot blocker too.

Penny can back up Marbury at the point, because There is absolutely no need to see Moochie this season. None at all.

unless someone gets injured. Moochie won't make some noise and could be useful if needed. no need to buy him out or anything like that.

To the opposite, I'd gladly trade M. anderson for a pair of old jeans, or a bag of crisps. Even over the time limit.

I like the sound of that.

If we are trading expiring contracts next year, I would rather trade tim thomas' contract, keep penny, and then resign him to a 3-4 year deal with pay incentives based on games played. Now that our backcourt is set, i don't know how many other stars we should get. if we can get dampier, i think we would be set at the center position - maybe we could try and trade for a younger center but i doubt anybody will give up a good center for a draft pick. and with sweetney, who should develop into a good low-post threat, we should look at improving the small forward position - maybe tim thomas' expiring deal for shawn marion. penny is a good leader on this team -he's been a star, been to the finals, knows how to win, and he was extremely clutch for us last year. add in the fact that he can play 3 positions and i think it would be smart if we resigned him after next year. there's only so many stars and so many egos a team can take, and the way penny has handled his injuries and the turn his career has taken shows that he is exactly the type of leader and role player the team needs.
