Did anyone check out the game yesterday? I'm surprised nobody posted anything about his performance, he looked pretty solid vs an Argentina team with several current/former NBA players. He needs to work on his defense but I was really impressed.

Hero: Kuzminskas had a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He accounted for 9 of the points in Lit run late in the third quarter.

Can't find any video yet, but here's the recap:

Lithuania move to 3-0, hand Argentina first defeat

RIO DE JANEIRO (Rio 2016 Olympic Games) - Lithuania improved to 3-0 in Group B after getting the better of Argentina, 81-73, in front of a packed house at Carioca Arena 1 on Thursday night.

There was little to separate the two teams in the first half, which ended with the Lithuanians heading back to the locker room up 30-27.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas spearheaded a 12-3 run late in the third quarter that gave the European side the first double-digit lead of the game, 57-47.

However, Argentina dug deep and scored 12 unanswered points to edge in front 61-59 with 6:51 left to play.

Lithuania regained the lead on a Jonas Maciulis three-pointer with 4:33 to go and extended it to 77-71 when Renaldas Seibutis made good on a lay-up and ensuing free-throw just inside the final minute. There was a further blow for Argentina as Luis Scola fouled out on the play.

With 46.9 seconds, Manu Ginobili missed a pair of free-throws for the third time and there was no such outcome for Seibutis who was a perfect 4-of-4 in two trips to the foul line in the closing seconds of the game.

Turning Point: Facundo Campazzo scored inside to get Argentina within 74-71 with 1:17 left in the game but Seibutis' converted three-point play that resulted in Scola having to return to the bench proved to be the breaking point for Sergio Hernandez's side.

Stats Don't Lie: Lithuania's bench was huge, outscoring Argentina's 34-13.

Hero: Kuzminskas had a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He accounted for 9 of the points in Lit run late in the third quarter.

Bottom Line: Lithuania are the only undefeated team in Group B and appear to be bound for the Quarter-Finals. The defeat dropped Argentina to 2-1 to match Croatia's mark. Lithuania take on Spain on Saturday in a re-match of the Final of EuroBasket 2015, a day which will also see the much-anticipated match-up between Argentina and hosts Brazil.

On the winning side, Lithuania's Mindaugas Kuzminskas was steady and efficient throughout a game that seemed anything but that, finishing with 23 points on 9-13 shooting including 2-3 from three-point land. He just signed with the New York Knicks last month and they have to be happy after that performance.

Him, Jennings, Randle, NDour, Thomas.......and low post Willy!

Thats a whole lot of athleticism, speed and energy off the bench!

Look out for that Jennings to NDour connection.....They will put up a few (or more) ESPN highlights this season!

bottom line is there is talent there and plenty of upside. Not likely they are all great but very likely we end up with a couple nice players. Phil needs this... after 3 years its basically Melo, KP and all the guys on this new team.

Hernangomez also had a decent game against Nigeria, 11 pts, 3 reb in 16 mins. I've actually set the DVR to record all of the Lithuania and Spain games. I'm more interested in those games than watching USA.

Mindaugas has A LOT of talent offensively. In his game against Argentina, he took some pretty tough shots (some jump turn arounds with the ball pushed almost up from his chest).
I didn't notice him being bodied up though, lots of finesse in there. I hope he can handle the physical NBA (though I hear overseas can be even more physical, anyone know about the
style of play in his league?)

I like what i have seen. Obviously the NBA is a entirely different level of competition but hopefully he can be a good boost off the bench

There is a great Locked On The Knicks podcast where they interview a guy that covered Kuz and to a lesser extent Hernangomez. It is worth checking out.

Watching Spain vs Lithuania. Looks like a really good pickup. Athletic, good shooter, creates well and sees the floor. I keep hearing a lot of talk about not being able to judge players at the Olympics, as the NBA is so much better, but many of the Olympic teams have NBA pros. And the international game has gotten so much better.

Btw Hermangomez did not show much in his minutes. And our starting 2015 point guard has not left the bench.

Spain spanked Lithuania by 50 today, but I would say Kuzminskas was their best player. He was where he was supposed to be and scored like a pro. I love how he plays
