I know giving Rose a long term deal isn't ideal due to his health, but it's at least an option if we strike out in FA next year. Plus, there's the off chance Jennings surprises and earns a contract. Our front office is playing smart, not waiting around for big name FAs who are difficult to land. With so many variables in the NBA you need plan after plan, and I'm now even more pleased with the moves we made.
This. Aside from signing Noah the Knicks took very little risks and potentially added a lot. Players already chose NY because of some of the guys acquired.
The offseason overall has been very unpredictable. Durant and the poison pill deals being matched were two things that I never expected. As you say, putting yourself in position to be successful despite variables you can't control is the best way to run a franchise.
