I think he meant "want" instead of "what". He needs a smarter auto-correct.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

"Joining in the effort of playing hard on every effort"?
I get what he's trying to say but that sounds like a sentence one of our presidential candidates would have tweeted.

Grammar is OK and we know the constraints of Twitter. He has a way of writing on his Tweets which makes you look at what he wrote a little more carefully, which I find to be a good thing.

Needed to reread his text...

"how much the players what want to unite"

This annoys me more than how he says things.

Sounds like he was responding to comments about some of the visible friendships we have on the Knicks...which he sees as being less important than the common effort needed for success on he court.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Yeah, the typos annoy me, too. And I do wonder if they're intentional - sort of trolling us? Or maybe he's just feeling groovy after his morning wake and bake.

Phil has his own strain , Triangle OG, for medicinal purposes of course. Im guessing that at this point, players who have been here will tell the new arrivals to take Phil's tweets with a grain of salt.

Phil is annoyed over the players being too buddy-buddy these days. Might be telling that fisher might have been a bit too with the players and avoided conflict.
Think that his two Alpha's, Kobe and Jordan were not exactly nice people on or off the court. Kobe and Shaq feuded but found a way to win. Jordan beat his own guys up in PRACTICE.

Maybe the Warriors need to slap each other in the Nuts a bit. When the pressure got hard i the finals, they lacked the "nasty". Durant won't give them that. Draymond seems to be the emotional leader but nut hunting is not exactly alpha male example. Can't argue that a chip and 73 wins is not a winning formula, but winning teams usually have that nasty. Spurs seemed to get it form their coach.

I can dig the smoke Phil is blowing:

“They like the guys, they like their team,” Jackson said of last season’s Knicks squad, which he dismantled and rebuilt with many players who hold a chip on their shoulders. “Sometimes likable teams don’t always win.”

I think what he's getting at while good feelings abound right now, the real test is when they face adversity in the season. While being friends is nice, friendship isn't going to be enough.

If Melo is DadMelo, Phil is GrandpaZen, trying to school these young bucks.

Sounds like he's warning them not to be so friendly with each other off the court, which tends to be more personal, because players are not permanent, just the system. If they become too personal (message to Melo and Noah who are the team leaders) then when players are traded, it wouldn't be a personal loss. He's letting them know early, before the relationships and clicks get any stronger.

It's interesting how we started to hear about different players working out together......In LA or in NY. Sounds like it can turn from work to play very easy.....And he probably doesn't want KP to get too attached, because in this business anybody can be traded, and that can have a negative effort on young guys (KP, Willy, etc...) who doesn't understand the culture of this business.

I also think Phil has a tendency to micro manage sometimes.....And managing how players bond together and what they do off the court is hard to manage.

I think Phil is saying that he sees the players working out together, hanging out together which is fine but the bottom line is during the game its all about playing hard, busting your azz . Great mind games directed to the players.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Im glad they're bonding. Turmoil and drama worked for Yankees championship teams of the late 70s. In this case, a team with two high usage stars, and a budding franchise player to develop, its better to get everyone on the same page and happy to share the rock.
