He says we should trade KP6 AND Rose for Westbrook. Give me some of what he is smoking.

The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.

Dear god. If Isiah were still running the show, this trade would've already happened.
Hopefully Phil knows better. I think he does.

This is something the Knicks have (rightfully) gotten killed for in the past. We finally have a team built for the now and the future, and someone thinks we should blow it up?! I agree with crzymdups, thank god Isiah is not in charge.

Non-knick fans are not as invested in Porzingis as most knicks fans are. Kp had a quality season showing that he is capable of being an NBA starter but he hasn't shown that he is a great player yet. His physical attributes and skill set leads most to think he has the potential to be great but he has not displayed a constant level of great play like Towns did last year.

I would not do the trade because I feel KP can be great but more importantly the possible FAs to add to this team next would be greater than having just Westbrook, Lee, Melo, and Noah.

Broussard said that he was yet convinced that KP was a Franchise talent, whereas he knows what Westbrook is right now. I would not trade KP but i'm much more convinced that KP can be a Franchise player. It's a move that isn't a ridiculous idea from the standpoint of how good Westbrook is right now. At this point i'm good rollin with KP.

complete and utter stupidity!

Though KP still has much to prove, he is our non adopted son and there is zero chance that he is traded (now).

so here is what phil is thinking ....

ESPN has a LOT of airtime to fill.

Take any of that stuff with a grain of salt.

His opinion may be strictly made-for-TV

Talk radio and ESPN fodder during the offseason. Why trade away talent when the FA class will be superior next year and likely include a shot at Westbrook anyway?

Guys like Broussard, Smith, Bayless, and others are simply trying to stir up the pot and provoke, otherwise they won't have a job.

Think of Broussard as another UK poster, who might have some sources. His opinions are no better than ours, unless he knows something that is going to happen ahead of time... but then they aren't really opinions at that point.

I never let these guys upset me beyond a "what the f...."

Wouldnt be enough talent to contend without KP. I doubt we would get the same bang for our buck in free agency, like KP on his rookie deal. KP not there would only encourage Westbrook to try and do too much, then we would be in the same boat as OKC was.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Wesbrook is Amare in a point guards body. You can see he loves the game, wants to win and wants to spend his entire career relying on his athleticism. He is not being very smart about how he plays.
I have no issues with him scoring, I think the NBA has shed the traditional position by position stereotypes. If you can get behind Rose then you should treat Westbrook as a god. But one injury and it will be the same story as Amare or Rose. And the way he plays he is courting disaster.

exactly the way I feel. Guys like this are relying too much on athleticism.

how does this make any sense when westbrook has already bounced back from 3 knee injuries? hasnt slowed him down in the slightest.

Exactly. I don't think objective outsiders would view this as a crazy trade. It's a young player with very high upside but an unknown future for a 27 year old top 10 NBA player. If OKC added an unprotected 1st round pic, it's a more serious discussion. Maybe even if it was a top 4 protected pick, which would be more realistic.

I would disagree because his stats as a 20 year old big man put him in elite company. Generally he's viewed as a franchise potential talent. The realgm general board has discussed this a lot. Westbrook is one of the best in the league, so no trade for him is outrageous but I would never do it.
