Hmmmm! Should be a good battle. They look built for speed but also with a legit post threat. Good thing for the Knicks is we should have great interior D. The Knicks finally have the ability at guard to match other teams so it's not such a huge disadvantage. The one big weakness for the Knicks is no longer there so I think this team will be HIGHLY competitive with the better teams in the league.

Just how good the Knicks will be depends on the level of bounce back we get from Rose and Jennings. Also who will earn the 4th guard minutes.

I'm hopeful for a better version of Melo this year. Horny told him to be ready to run and Melo looks slimmer already. He looks sharper IMO. I liked the video showing him working on a floater! That's a quick offense tool. Seems like he's preparing for less post ups and more scoring on the move. That's a good thing. Quick Melo has always been better than slow hold the ball Melo.

Feels like we hang through 6th man then we are left drastically behind.

George is slightly better than Melo at this point in most categories, though their PERs are near identical.

I'm taking KP6 over Thaddeus Young all day.

Jefferson and Noah is a near wash. Health concerns make Jefferson a little more reliable. But absent health concern, Noah is the best.

Teague vs Rose is a bit hard to say. Fully healthy I take Rose all day. Rose might presently be healthier. Kind of a push.

Ellis vs Jennings seems like a push, again.

Courtney Lee vs Stuckey seems to be in our favor.

But, once they hit Turner and Miles, we really don't have much further depth. People will Koolaid up Thomas, Kooz, Hernie, KOQ, but in truth we are 6 deep with health concerns most of the way through. If i am being honest with myself, this team is top 3 if all goes well and 7th or 8th if anything goes wrong. lottery if more than one thing goes wrong. Not enough depth to overcome a big injury.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Name wise it looks nice, but to me looks like they will have spacing issues.

I don't think you can put each team together and say one guy is better than the next. I think it's a wash across the board.

Melo and George are a wash. Melo is better inside. George is better off the dribble and facilitating.

Courtney Lee and Stuckey are a wash.
Elis and Jennings are a Wash.
Jefferson has been hurt a whole lot as well so again his match up against Noah is a wash.
Lance and CJ Miles is a wash. Both are spot starters and have been very effective respectfully.
Rose and Teague are a wash at this point.
Turner vs KOQ and Willy? I will say that's a wash. Turner is very good but our guys combined even it out.
KP and Thaddeus is the xfactor match-up. Thad can do some handling and he's mobile and strongenough to handle KP. Through the course of a game hire do they protect the rim? If they try KP will be open every time. Also KP is protecting the basket and defending the perimeter at 7'3".

Don't accused fans of the kool-aid syndrome if you are going to overstate the value of other teams players.

My whole point though is to point out how good Indiana is now. We have a dog fight on our hands

I agree... rim protection is a problem too.... but they look to be a team built to run.

Turner and Miles are pretty good. Lance Thomas should be a good reserve for us as well. All we need is too hope we can get something good from Kuz, KOQ and the one player you seem to have forgotten is Justin Holliday!!! He's no star but not a scrub either. Gotta hope he can find a role a give this team some good minutes.

Pacers are a nice team...but nothing special...they are beatable, especially if the Knicks are healthy.

Sometimes the man/man match-ups don't tell you who the better team is, though.

You can't say that Rose vs Teague and Noah vs Jeffrson are a wash unless those players are healthy and actually on the court. Better to consider Jennings vs Teague and KOQ vs Jefferson.

In some people's minds it's a guarantee that this won't work. Is George injury prone cuz he snapped his leg? Injuries can happen to anyone at any time. Some people are just unlucky. The Knicks are aware of the need for care and maintenance. Constantly pointing out the injury history gets to be annoying at a certain point. KD and Steph had injuries that were stubborn but overcame them. Of course there have been other players who also got past their injuries.

The starting unit seems like if healthy it could go to war. The knicks have a slight advantage with big man defense and KP size over Youngs. The knicks bench is looking to be more defensive minded than anything...... It will be a great matchup.

1) They appear to be pretty evenly matched.
2) They are deeper than us. I think you overstate the value of our bench and understate theirs. Basically, you did exactly what i suggested you would and to validate it. Turner is a legit up and coming prospect of higher regard than Willy or KOQ. I think KOQ shows better statistics than folks give him credit for. But I'd rather have Turner than any of them. I think his ceiling us higher.

I'm vegetarian.

Denial of reality is definitely annoying. The truth is both teams have players with injury histories.... lets hope both teams are healthy instead of just expecting the entire Knicks team will be in a hospice by the all star break

You can't say that Rose vs Teague and Noah vs Jeffrson are a wash unless those players are healthy and actually on the court. Better to consider Jennings vs Teague and KOQ vs Jefferson.

Jennings and Jefferson are always hurt too. You gotta go with projected starters and probable rotations. You can't predict injuries. The most healthy guy could finally get the bug

Constant denial of reality is equally annoying. Let's review this at the all-star break. The proof will be, as they say, in the pudding. I'll be happy to eat crow. Will you?

I'm vegetarian.

Denial of reality is definitely annoying. The truth is both teams have players with injury histories.... lets hope both teams are healthy instead of just expecting the entire Knicks team will be in a hospice by the all star break

I hate when any player gets injured. I want to see teams at full strength face each other. Hated to see CP3 go down. The same with other players. Right now we should be concerned with this team jelling as quickly as possible.

Knicks and Pacers could both be top four in the East if everything goes right.

As of now, I'd say:

1) Cleveland
2) Boston

after that it gets harder to predict, but I'd say:

3) Toronto
4) Indiana
5) Knicks
6) Bulls
7) Detroit
8) Hawks / Magic / maybe Hornets?

I think the Bucks, Heat, Nets, Wizards are on the outside looking in.

Sixers are obviously the Sixers.
