Noah looked so moved to be in this uniform. This season may be special.

Finally a player whose jersey I can be proud to wear. Lance Thomas too. It feels so dofferent when you have players that want to be here.

Melo needed to come off with more of a connection to the city. I am gonna be honest, that Daily News cover and that quote Melo had is the type of thing I want to see from him. Not from a political aspect, but from an aspect of being a leader. He cares for something. He is challenging others and himself to be better.

The problem with Melo was never about skill or being fat or whatever people wanted to come up with. It was he didnt look like he cared. He played like it was his job not his passion. Noah, off the bat, Has deep connections here. Lance told his agent not to talk to anyone else. Melo came here, and was behind the eight ball from the begining because he didnt give anything up to be here. He came off as he would have been just as happy in Brooklyn. The Knicks had to sacrifice to get him, not the other way around. Then he gets here and it wasnt about his passion for NY or the Knicks, it was about Lala's tv show. It was about Fashion week. It was about the superficial side benefits of a millionaire being here. No narrative was written about him being connected to the heart and soul of this city. NY seemed like his retirement plan. Right, wrong, indifferent, he never talked about the deeper stuff Noah did, nor did that stuff ever come out about him.

Ill be honest,I loved Melo in Denver, one of the few non Knick jerseys I've owned (Bill Russell, Alonzo Mourning, Georgetown Ewing). He came here came off as hired gun after a bit. Just a guy who wants to live in the city.

Chicago is a great town with a great fan base but NY and Noah the person are a great fit. He is sincere, hopefully he stays healthy because he will play his sss off
