Which is about what he would have made with the Knicks if he hadn't opted out.

He gambled that his value would increase after last season...clearly overestimated his value, or at least it seems that way.

Played better for us last year than I expected...interesting to see how he does in Miami.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Good for him. I don't think we give Knicks the credit for developing him as well,as weird as that sounds.

agreed. credit given to the knicks. No one else wanted him except Phil last year. Not much space for him here in the NKO (new knick order)

Wish him the best, but yeah that doesn't seem like a great situation for him.

that sucks. Should have stayed, wish we could have kept him. Hopefully he does well there and gets big money next year, or maybe comes back!

I knew that was going to happen if he opted out...smh...Maybe Afflalo was in his ear,it made no sense for him to opt out , his minutes were to sporadic, and so was his play. The way some for the sf/pf like Fry and Morris performed in JH's system, he would have been goldon

He's in a good spot. Good luck to him. He's been working really hard this summer

Phil and the knicks gave him an opportunity to redeem his career and that's what actually happened..

Miami lost luol deng to free agency so maybe Dwill takes that spot and start at SF for the heat..

He did a good job coming off the bench providing us some spark..

Jackson overpaid for him in last years market with that 2/$10 deal with player option. If anything it should have been a team option. Williams performed fairly well in his role but still comes off asunderacheiving slacker and that costs him. Heat getting him for $5 is cheap in this inflated market, reflects both the wariness on him and that many teams shot their wad early

He will do better in Miami because there are going to be more isolation plays than ever in Miami.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Well, Philly still has some left.

He did that so many times last season, I really was hoping we could keep him, but that would be just to make our bench a bit more scary.
If he ends up starting in Miami, good for DWill.

While not his fault given our turmoil at the head coaching position, I really did not see that made all that much progress.
He didn't get a multi year deal or much of a raise over what he made last year.
Did we cut ties with him? We could have bought him back. Yes, he did opt out FINANCIALLY but sometimes thats a formality.
We could have paid him more. We didn't.

Williams will be missed in the open floor and his game was improving, but I think our Euro replacement for him shows a whole lot more promise - offensively, defensively and with BBall IQ.
And what a bad gamble by Williams, not sure Miami is the right fit for him. He will make a little bit more but might be cutting off his nose to spite his face. Time for a new agent.
