Maybe he doesnt have Lebron's super cut greek god body but then again only 2.9% of the world has that but he has never been FAT. He has a round face & the body armor he wears makes it appear like he has a gut but I really think it was just something that the Gallinari lovers trumped up in their anger over the trade. Oh jeez, this dumb argument again. I'm not a real doctor, but the human body has fat for a reason, and people's physiology are different. Fat has been unfairly demonized. What is healthy for someone may cause issues for someone else. I'd rather have him a little chubby in a uniform than cut in a suit. Baba Booey 2016 — "It's Silly Season"

A lot of it is just genetics. Abs are genetics. Some people barely do anything and have super well defined abs, some people just can't get them. Some people are born with a higher body fat % even when they are in elite shape. Melo is a good example of this.

Yeah i like how he's always fat, he's always out of shape, but he leads the team statistically and plays more minutes in total than most of these "melo is a fatboy" posters can type words.

The Olympic preparation is good for him and it makes him sharper at the very start of the season. This is exactly what this team needs going into next season. |

melo has been in *very good* shape his entire career but never in *great* or *elite* shape. it all doesn't matter anyway... unless he finally goes deep into the playoffs and has to play extra minutes and play harder than the regular season. who knows-- he may get his chance with this team.
case in point: warriors played more games in the playoffs this season and it showed up in the finals. curry made some mental mistakes that were surely related to a lack of oxygen in his brain. knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I get the feeling from what Hornacek has stated that he's going to push this team and get them in condition to run the floor much more than we've ever seen from this team. Melo is already off to a good start and should be able to more easily get into NBA game shape and more importantly "Horny Ball" shape. |
