Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: As Knick fans, we have to be happy for Gallo. He went undrafted, was not projected to be an NBA caliber player coming out of college. He payed his dues with Westchester in the D league and made the most of his opportunity when he finally received a 10 day call-up and ended up making the roster. He may not be the most talented player, or the most athletically gifted, but he gave 100% effort and provided toughness when he was on the court and was one of the most consistent Knicks as a role player on some bad teams. He was also one of the few Knicks who were clutch and made some big shots for us. If anyone has earned a multi-year contract, it's him. He's also a good guy and a consummate professional. A real feel good NBA story where they are so few these days. He's going back home. Thank you Gallo for being one of the few bright spots in a couple of tough years as Knics fans to watch. You deserve it! Let's all say thank you and show some love! Wishing him the best on his new team! |

unfortunate we couldn't keep him - he was a throw back to Charlie Ward and Chris Childs - a guy that got by with grit and determination and DEFENSE.
Good for him. I'll definitely root for him. |

We will miss Gallo. He is a hard working player. I think that he will improve next year as well.

Glad that being a good teammate and a hard worker got Galloway a great new start in his home town and a new bride to put down roots with. Right out of the movies.

Respect the man but I'm not upset we let him go. Hope he does well.

Sounds like he did well for himself...
The Knicks could offer Galloway as much as $6.1 million per season, but the 24-year-old guard reportedly took a deal from N.O. worth between $5 and $6 million annually with an opt out after the first year. I read somewhere else that we did offer him $3M/yr. Never thought that Galloway should have been a lead guard. If the Pelicans give him a chance to play off guard I think he'll be much more effective. He's also a guy who rarely gets injured, so he'll be a rare bird indeed on the injury plagued Pelicans. He might end up playing more minutes than expected. I think if he had continued with the kind of shooting he showed earlier in the year last season, he would still be on the team. Solid player and person...if he's not here the Pelicans are his best destination because he's a Baton Rouge kid.
