That rate would make a lot of sense for Eric Gordon - 2 years 24 million.

Yeah the dude earned it after last year. He's going to be the starter. Brooklyn has a huge Asian community. 12 million a year. All around good investment for Brooklyn.

Good signing by the Nets. BroPez will be deadly with the PnR combination but Sloan, Brogdanovic, Ellington and McCullough are all going to thrive with their 3 point shooting. Watch out for Willie Reed also to have a break out year.

It really is good for them. I haven't liked much about them but at least he will make things more fun there. His head coach was part of the Knicks staff when Linsanity broke out. I'm sure that is a reason it was a logical fit.

I think we would have been better off keeping Robin and signing Lin instead of trading for Rose & signing Noah for $70M.

Seriously - can anyone debate that?

And does anyone argue against what a waste of an asset we made by trading Lopez & his crazy sane contract before the FA period opened?

low ceiling. If Rose and Noah miss enough games its a push sure.. but I would rather have the impact players and manage their injuries best I can than have guys I know never get me out of the first round

also no big players are coming to play with Lin/Lopez. Rose/Noah have a bit more influence, but we can see how that plays out at the end of FA, when there are tons of good players left, no money to dish out guys just looking for the best situation. That has yet to play out so I can call that a plus, but I am fine with Rose/Noah either way.

If Mozgov is getting $64M, what would Lopez get?

And by extension, what could Phil have gotten from a team that missed out on getting a 7ftr this FA period? I think more than a gamble on a player like Rose? I should like to think we would have still made the trade, but kept Grant and maybe gotten a first round pick out of the Bulls or someone else.

Phil had bad timing, and he had bad timing because he is desperate. And when you are desperate, you make bad decisions. Like the time you napped in a fish tank and are consequently known as fishmike.

Without the Rolo trade you are still carrying Calderon's contract so you have to consider that as well. Maybe you can move Calderon post FA but who knows? You might have to include something else to get a team to take him.

I do agree that Rolo's contract looks very good in the new cap space world and maybe that is a big asset you can get something with, but who are you trading him to and for who? What team has a PG under contract that you want and has a need for a center? Not saying you're wrong but it's easy to say they should have done this or that but if you don't make a move when you have an opportunity you could be left sitting there with assets that nobody wants to take. It's similar to having a bunch of cap and no one willing to take it (looking at you, Lakers...)

Lin
??
Melo
KP
Rolo

Is that better than

Rose
??
Melo
KP
Noah

Definitely debatable. Potential upside if the inury bug doesn't strike definitely goes to the Rose/Noah crew, but I agree Lin/Rolo would have been more stable. We shall see...

Never bought into Linsanity but he has steadied and developed his game to the point that he merits that deal in this market. Nets can not tout that he was a former MVP years back but he'll be an attraction for Brooklyn nonetheless and fit their needs at pg while leaving them plenty of cap going forward. He's not my fav but was another way for Jax to skin the cat. Keeping Rolo, inking Lin and having $20 to play with in 16 fa as well as having two very tradeable contracts going forward could have been another path taken that may have offered more flexibilty

Good for Lin. I hope he continues with what he was doing here.
I hope they lose when we play them but outside of that, Linsanity was the most fun I ever had as a Knicks fan.

Rose and Noah totally change the way this team functions. People will be shocked at the speed difference. Noah is WAY more mobile and agile on D. That will make the defense way better at closing down penetration and dealing with PnR. I think people are so concerned about the possibility of injury that they are forgetting just how improved the team will be.

$12m per and 3 year is fair for Lin. Nets got a steal on this one. He's not an all star, but he'll produce plenty during his NBA prime years.

That's one of those...think before you speak thing... Gotta stay classy my friend.

He is going to regret making that tweet. Might have caused him some money for his next contract.

I'll take Jack for a bag of chips please!

Anything more than a MLE is overpaying for Jack.
